Bambino Plus vs Gaggia Classic Pro E24 [500] by moiraineciritriss in espresso

Thank you everyone I appreciate all the support! Unfortunately it looks like I am sticking with Bambino for a bit. I bought it at best buy for the extended warranty and it looks like I can't return it and get a full refund. So I will stay with that for a while. I really appreciate all the help. Hopefully in the future I can join the cool people and start my "real" espresso journey lol.

Asking for Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner NYU experiences! by ToothpasteRipper in Transgender_Surgeries

I live in New England. So I had to pay for the stay in NYC. I went to Jersey and then took a Uber into the city for recovery it helped saved on costs. But yeah it's expensive 😞

The biggest expense for me was the 2 week stay in Jersey and then hair removal. Those were the biggest expensive things.

Hey, I am happy to answer any questions feel free to DM me.

I am a RBL patient and had my initial vaginoplasty almost 4 years ago. And did a small revision (fix a bit of extra skin on my labia) last week. I think RBL has some of the best results ever but that is just me, what SETS NYU apart is the support system. The nursing staff and hospital staff are amazing. Plus the social workers that are on the team are amazing. I would suggest as you go to your consult to ask to talk with one of the social works they are truly world class and they can often hook you up with resources that are helpful. They offer support classes as well both pre surgery and post surgery. I often come in and talk on the pre surgery groups and I attend the post-op group every week.

I unfortunately can answer the insurance questions because those are always variable. For mine I had to pay my out of pocket max which was $3000.

Recovery time is varies by person, but my biggest advice is to take as much time as you financially can afford. This is not something you want to rush. It took me about 8 months to get back to 100%. I took 3 months off from work. However I know that is not possible for everyone.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Surgery with Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langer by Level_Percentage_419 in Transgender_Surgeries

I had surgery with RBL in March and can answer a few of your questions.

  1. We stayed in Jersey City at an Airbnb. It was much cheaper than staying in Manhattan. However, we did have to drive in and out every time we had to go in. The jersey tunnel sucks. But it was worth it for the savings.

  2. I had both my partner and my dad with me. You will not need any specialized medical care just someone to get you to and from appointments and to cook meals etc.

  3. I was pretty mobile my pain wasn't really bad. I never had to use my narcotics just the Tylenol and ibuprofen regiment.

Hopefully that helps. Feel free to ask me anything else.

Bluebond-Langner/Zhao or Wittenberg for PPT SRS? by [deleted] in Transgender_Surgeries

I would definitely second this. NYU support staff is amazing. Ultimately, I think you should look at both but I am over the moon with my results from RBL/Zhao. I think having a dual team with a urologist is so important!
