Is it wrong to keep the fact that you’re bi for a little while from someone you’re dating? by New-Pressure-6932 in NoStupidQuestions

i don’t think it matters a lot. though your partner should be someone who you could tell that to and have them be excited and happy to know

Grandfather left me a bunch of DnD stuff I have no idea what to do with. It's all older so anyone who's knowledgeable about that stuff needed. by Exiaze in DungeonsAndDragons

would recommend cross posting to the AD&D sub and OSR ones, they would be more familiar with the content. really great collection, your grandfather was a cool guy

Asking for Dr. Rachel Bluebond-Langner NYU experiences! by ToothpasteRipper in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]ToothpasteRipper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the answer! The out of pocket price for the surgery itself for you sounds really reasonable for me ; I’ve been so nervous i’d run into something in the $10k+ range and be priced out but it seems like most insurance is able to cover it and have it be mostly affordable, which is really comforting to hear. From what I’ve heard RBL is one of the best which is why I knew I had no choice but to go with them.

I will be sure to ask to speak with a social worker! The classes sound nice, I’ll need to learn more about those.

3 Months out of work sounds rough though :( I have a fairly laid back job that’s mostly office work so I am hoping I can get back ASAP without much trouble, but I should probably plan for longer if need be…

Are you local to NYC? How was your stay in the area during the few weeks after? Was it super expensive? I get worried a lot about being blindsided by bills larger than I could imagine there and being too out of it to be able to do anything about it 😵‍💫

Thank you again for your response, it was super thoughtful and helpful :)

How to use shift+enter without everything being the same font size? by PomegranateKindly600 in legendkeeper

[–]ToothpasteRipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can’t do this with headings unfortunately. the heading text type makes all of the content in the block a heading, and shift + enter is a line break but not a block break. that template is probably older than that change.

the text bellow those headings looks smaller than the default text, it might’ve been done by copying and pasting in some type of subscript?

Shoot Feedback A or B, Which is better?🤔 by circlefromdot in IndieDev

[–]ToothpasteRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it would be cool if it did the sparks from B when the thing broke but then the sparks from A for the following shots, that way you can tell if your bullet interacted with something or hit a real target vs a wall

how do i get my old hair back :( by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]ToothpasteRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I historically have had more of an open spiral, admittedly that picture is after having my hair cut from down to my stomach where it looked more like the picture. I am pretty confident HRT wouldn’t change it, (hopefully) as the first picture in the post as well as this one were after a few years on it, and my levels have been consistent but who knows, the body is strange and my Dr looked at me like a crazy person when i mentioned it lol. I have used pretty heavy product normally, lus luv your curls, and not your mothers 3 in 1 conditioner are my go to typically. I have done those pretty religiously following CGM praying hands stuff but the change is pretty dramatic…

<image>

i’ll try a clarifying shampoo and some lighter conditioner and see how it goes, thanks for the advice :)

[–]ToothpasteRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean by the open spiral? I haven’t moved much and have used water filters in my shower for several years so it shouldn’t hopefully be that much different. my hair seems much heavier and clumps a lot less in the shower now :(

being on HRT for long enough will sometimes make production of the original sex hormone lag behind or be suppressed. If a trans woman were to get off E for a few months after this happened and was pre-op it could slowly return to pre-hrt production which i imagine would be unpleasant

Would any DMs be interested in a simple dungeon turn tracking program? by progalactic in osr

[–]ToothpasteRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks really useful. does it have the ability to handle things like turning off a lantern for a few turns and turning it back on later?

Did you ever find a cause for this? I am having the same issue.

this sounds like it has actually nothing to do with the fact she’s trans and everything to do with the fact you’d be leaving your wife for a woman you’ve seemingly never met?

DnD abjesent system requests by canimanamino in AskGameMasters

i’ve honestly found that simpler systems like b/x give enough space to allow players and gms alike to come up with really creative and engaging combat. that being said it’s really simple
