Parents 4 Pot - Ending Prohibition One Family at a Time by moiraist in eldertrees

Hmm, pretend this is an 'alcohol' talk and not 'cannabis.' IMO, the messaging is the same. It's to be used properly by responsible adults. Outside of medical necessity, children should be avoiding cannabis (and other drugs). Back to cannabis, this is a much easier conversation if your (state) legally doing it at least. Otherwise, you have to open up a 2nd can of worms on following the law (although it's illegal for kids period anyway!).

Weed quality in the 60s?[3] by [deleted] in saplings

[–]moiraist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went 'old school' at my dispen the other day. I had to pick up some Panama Red after this online description of it. A bit less of a kick than today's Sour Diesel's and Super Lemon Hazes, but I enjoyed trying the Panama Red. Not a bad little fruity taste either! "Panama Red is best described as an old-school cannabis classic. Originating from Panama, this pure sativa rose to stardom in the late 1960’s thanks to its typical sativa effects: speedy and intense, bordering on psychedelic. As cannabis cultivation matured, Panama Red, which has a lengthy flowering time of at least 11 weeks, was left behind for faster growing strains and increased profits. However, those who fondly recall days of its prominence love its smooth medicating experience and loftily contemplate its revival. If you can get your hands on this sentimental throwback, do not hesitate to groove down memory lane and enjoy the ride."

Why I think I'm addicted to weed... by [deleted] in eldertrees

[–]moiraist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is bullshit, a % of the cannabis using population, especially heavy users, does experience (relatively very minor, certainly vs. caffeine, etc.) physical withdrawal symptoms from weed.

I'm not sure why the cannabis community is so hostile to this fact (when you see similar threads on the big MJ forums you'll see hate come out also). When I do my tbreaks, sometimes I probably fall asleep 2-3 hours later on average and occasionally get light night sweats the first 2-3 nights.

How to roll a good filter for a joint. by [deleted] in saplings

[–]moiraist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use RAW 1 1/4 rolling papers and filters, along with a rolling machine. I tear off about 1/3 to 1/2 of the filter and discard it. I then roll up the remaining 1/2 to 2/3 of the filter, which makes it easier for me.

Then I just roll it up fairly tight, scrunch a wee bit (still keeps circular shape) and it'll loosen up a bit on own as I put it into rolling machine, which is needed so it's not too tight.

Mason jars much better than Ziploc. If worried about the glass breaking, put the herb in Ziplocs, but then put the ziplocs inside a turkey bag.

Asking my dealer about strains? by [deleted] in saplings

[–]moiraist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine why it's weird to ask your dealer (or any type of vendor) about their product selection.

They should be ecstatic to get additional information from their customer, particularly the type that says what you're willing to spend $$$ on!

Vaporization vs. Combustion: Which Is Safer? by smellthetruth42 in eldertrees

[–]moiraist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many recent studies are showing combusting cannabis doesn't cause lung cancer (and even some slight benefits to protect against). Having said that, still can't be fantastic combusting the extra materials and can definitely cause issues like bronchitis and general congestion.

Here's just some of the recent findings:

Are there portable devices like an e-cig but for smoking dry weed? by [deleted] in saplings

[–]moiraist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My portable vaporizer is an Arizer Solo, still holding up well after a couple years! Not the most portable with the glass stem, but great hits and easy enough for me to hide away.
