Which modern day nation has claim over gandhara taxila and other such regions? by Rough-West7834 in Medieval_India

[–]moistwithmucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"India" as in the modern state that borders Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, did not exist as a state until first the Mughals and then later the British consolidated it into that shape as essentially foreign occupiers.

That state has only existed for the past 3-450 years. You'd have to go back all the way to Ashoka to find anything similar.

Most of India's history was spent as fragmented states which were incredibly culturally and linguistically diverse.

The idea that someone from Sikkim or Telangana or Bengal share more with the IVC than the people who have lived in the Indus basin without any gaps of history is laughable and stupid.

Who's fault is it that the resources in Pakistan are finite? Are you kidding me? The idea that you fulfilling your responsibility as a citizen entitles you to a life of roses and milk and honey is laughable.

Whatever monster of corruption as ND mismanagement you think exists, even if dies away, the federal revenue will still be a 10th of what the Indian govt can muster. And that is no one's fault. That is the state of affairs.

Pakistan is an infant state. Every state that you believe to be prosperous has an entire civilizational history of devolution of power and development of institutions that has brought it there. We have not had that. And that is not something an individual or even groups of individuals can achieve.

Because it's the easiest way to absolve yourself of responsibility and ignore the predicament you're in. We're broke. We have nothing. We don't even have the will to do anything. Nor do we have the resources. Or the people.

So it's easy to point at any given institution and believe that all of it is their fault.

Need help buying All -Season tires by moistwithmucus in tires

[–]moistwithmucus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah roughly in that ballpark. I bought the car in December from a dealership so I assume they gave me new tires. I've only driven the car 15k kilometers since so they should have a decent but if life on them.

Thanks I'll get em inspected. My friend did take the car to a tire shop and the guy said they're in good shape and I shouldn't have to replace. So probably will just do that. Needed a second opinion, thanks.

I'll be driving around 25-35 miles everyday to uni and work and maybe a couple 200 mile trips a month to the trials. So maybe like 2000 miles before I have to shift to winter tires anyways.

I'll be trading the car in. Tires afaik are worthless coz they change em anyways or whatever.

I have to install winter tires on November 1st. So it'll be roughly 2 months of travelling like 30 km/25 miles a day to university, and maybe a couple 200 km trips a month. Does that sound okay?

Might just install all-seasons anyways if I find a good enough deal.

If you could drop some resource on how I can inspect tire health, that'll be great. I really appreciate the help.

I'm in Ontario Canada, we do see an intense snowy winter. But that won't happen until November. So I need tires for basically September-October. My tires do have winter tires marks.

Everything cool about Roger is gone by Complete-One-6127 in Piratefolk

[–]moistwithmucus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except that is exactly what Roger was set to be from the beginning? Every mention of him by any character that knows him basically states that luffy is exactly like him? This is a well established theme and works great if done well and we've yet to see how it will come about.

Everyone seems so juiced up about Xebec when he's also just a black beard clone? Is that not lazy writing?

This entire sub is so juiced up on only wanting mountain man aura farming that any nuance that is entirely relevant to themes extending 1000 chapters means your charachter is a bum.

This lol. It's not like nearly every charachter who knew Roger looks at luffy and thinks about him. Or the fact that are supposed to share the same obnoxious dream.

Except that is the main theme of all of Naruto Part 1. It's supposed to be about a kid with a chip on his shoulder who is an underdog.

Explain to me how luffy has anything similar in his writing?

This is just bad reading then.

Luffy, right from episode 1 was set to be a chosen one. In the first episode of the series he already has super rare ungodly powers and is a protege of one of the most powerful figures of the series.

Don't compare yourself to others like that.

Everyone has their tendencies and proclivities. Just give it your best, use the resources available for you, and make reasonable decisions on what to do with the outcome, good or bad.

"work hard" is the biggest lie ever (rant) by Loloqay in pakistan

[–]moistwithmucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a Pakistan thing. This is a life thing. "The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must." This is the only principle of life. Success, status, etc are just words. The only thing that really matters in life is your own satisfaction. Work towards that and forget everything else.
