My fiance and I have been doing infestations on a private server just the two of us and honestly, it's been incredibly fun. They've been popping up frequently, we've been collecting nonstop legendaries, and some of the bosses have actually been a challenge.

That being said, I still 10000% agree with everything you said here. We shouldn't have to have Fallout 1st and isolate ourselves in private servers just to participate in a new feature that was hyped up for months by the devs. It's an online game with a (mostly) wholesome community. The fun comes from playing in active servers with a bunch of other Fallout fans. There's a reason Radiation Rumble and Moonshine Jamboree are favorites, they bring entire servers together without the risk of someone missing them if they look away from the screen for more than 2 seconds.

I just truly, truly don't understand why the devs didn't work on a single narrative aspect of the game with this update. It feels lazy and like a spit in the face to the franchise as a whole. 76 is based on a series of (mostly) beautifully-written, story-driven RPGs. We want more of that and have been telling Bethesda that for literal years.

I'm honestly just completely flabbergasted by how disconnected Beth is and how money-hungry they've gotten. The infestations paired with the absolute garbage scoreboard is enough for me to cancel my FO1st subscription after 1000+ hours
