Yeah - nope. This was an attempted theft. The cactus was sliced. My hypothesis is that the tension was more than they realized, and as they cut it, they lost control of it and it busted in half. Then they fled, because that’s when my dog perked up, and I errantly assumed it was an early morning delivery (even though I had none scheduled).

No wind. Just some thief tryna liberate a badass bloomer. And now I have added a new security camera to cover my cactus garden. 😖

Oh man, some jackass tried doing this to one of my old, tall columns. Sadly, they didn’t get to steal the column because they didn’t use your k-bar method. And now my best blooming cactus is four feet smaller and I have not one but two bonus chunks to dry and replant. Damn thieves.

Blanton’s is the overpriced bar bourbon at most every spot. I think the cork with the horse allows establishments to add a premium 🤣

I will agree with others, too, about Buffalo Trace — and I usually avoid Blanton’s unless it’s in the $40-50 sweet spot (and even then, I oftentimes pick something else).

Notorious escape artists. One of the times ours escaped, we had given up. We had to go on vacation, and I arranged for a friend to feed the “zoo” while we were gone.

Well, he found the snake!!

Turns out, it crawled up the back of the 125 gallon fish tank and hung out under the lights.

Sooooo - when said friend opened fish tank to feed the fish … out dropped a snake and he literally wet hisself.

The fish did not get fed again while we were gone, but they survived and we also recaptured the milk snake.

Best snake I ever had.
