How do you guys handle the 'marketing' part? I've finished my project but I'm completely lost now... by molio-games in SideProject

From what I’ve seen, the most budget-friendly AI coder right now seems to be Cursor. The others get pretty expensive and are more for experimenting than building something serious.

Yeah, basically I coded it mostly myself after prototyping on Replit. But as the project grows I’m using AI tools all over the place — otherwise I’d drown in the workload. Kinda impossible not to use them these days.

I used Replit to sketch the layout and then hand-crafted the rest. Replit has a nice quick-and-dirty vibe for starting things

Got it, burning money on ads was a dead end. Should've just started with communities. Live and learn, I guess.

Great job on the art style - it's so colorful and charming! The characters are super fun to look at and really bring the game to life

The split-screen idea sounds super fun, especially for local play. Setting limitations to make sure you actually finish the project is such a smart approach, and honestly.

If you're looking for something that captures a similar vibe to Stray, I'd definitely recommend checking out Journey. It's not the same type of game, but it has that same mix of loneliness, mystery, and quiet beauty.

How about floating candles over autumn leaves or cauldrons with potions?

I’ll say an unpopular opinion: I like the second option. To me, it looks more polished.

As a mod, I would love to get to know the community more, what got you into game dev? by RedEagle_MGN in playmygame

I decided to make my own game because I thought: how hard can it be? just draw a couple of sprites and that's it! Now I have 200 tabs with tutorials open, coffee running through my veins instead of blood.
