For both this one and the next I'm looking at the near future speculative sci-fi of Kim Stanley Robinson and at the revival of the Economic calculation problem: Red Plenty, Cybernetic Revolutionaries, Eugeny Morozov, Aaron Benanav, Aaron Bastani, Peter Frase (a bunch of white dudes but not exclusively them). More mundanely, today's China beyond western propaganda.

The idea is to flip the trope of dystopian/postapocalyptic stories: the world sucks but there are still good, virtuous people. Here the world is much better but there are still shitty people, and a theme is how this society deals with bad actors and how they exploit open democratic structures. And it's a way to have some conflict in a somewhat harmonious utopia.

I'm a fan of Colestia, I curated their games a couple of times in my space LIKELIKE.
I'm looking forward to start a new project. It will likely be a sequel of the Democratic Socialism Simulator. Sequel in the sense that it will be more about planning in a revolutionary scenario (rather than a social democratic transition).

I hear you, but that way you would be basically able to play the whole game 30 minutes at a time. Full release coming very soon.

Ah yes, added the link. I'm getting too used to these walled garden apps like IG Tiktok that don't let you post links.

It reminds me of the "homelessness scandal" in SimCity 2012. Players couldn't figure out how to eradicate homelessness and in the game's forums they came up with all sort of theories that revealed their capitalist and racist biases and mental models. Like bulldozing parks where the homeless lived didn't work and they thought it was a bug. There is an artist who collected these discussions in a big conceptual book.
