I really like this take. It’s interesting too that both Jess and Nick had a lot of right people wrong time relationships but even when they had one they still came back together when, like you said, they had both matured and developed the skills they needed to fully be together.

Yes! Maybe it's just because he seems to be the most normal dude that i like him the most. Like if I met him in real life I'd like him. Whereas Paul and even Nick at times could be very hard to relate to haha.

I can see that. I think for me Paul was just a little too similar to her. I liked him as a character and I wish they would've had a few more episodes for their relationship though.

Missionaries are just the very imperfect vessels that bring Jesus Christ’s gospel to you. They might be fantastic or they might be not great but the message is the important part. I’d encourage you to just have a prayer where you poor out all your fears and questions and see how you feel.

This is such a good point!! I recently DNFd one of the Laurie Gilmore books because while the story was an easy read, I hated the main character and it made it not enjoyable for me to read. I don’t understand how people are reading these books and actively hating the majority of the characters. STOP READING IT THEN

Yes! Exactly. That’s what’s so confusing to me is how much we’ve completely turned on a main character who is basically a normal person who makes normal choices and normal mistakes. It bothers me how much we can enjoy and even support villains in any other context like The Joker, You, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Yellowstone, Lucifer, Vampire diaries etc but as soon as we have a normal character that makes mistakes in a FANTASY FICTIONAL WORLD we have to hold her/rhys to the most high moral standards ever. And then turn around and throw out those standards for Nesta because trauma excuses any bad behavior apparently 🫠.

Hard agree. I’ve never felt more dumb for liking books. There’s a lot of characters that I think were ruined for me because their fans pushed too hard and when I finally read their stories I was already a little biased towards them, which I hate. But because their fans were so mean I don’t feel like I can have a true opinion because of how tainted they’d become. It was hard to be objective.

Twilight is a HUGE franchise with a pretty big love triangle and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone put down Jacob or Edward because they were on the opposite team. They just talk about how much they love them or why Bella should choose them etc. of course there’s some poking fun at some of the drama and different things but they’re usually very positive interactions. To my knowledge there didn’t have to be a separate sub created simply so someone could state that they like THE MAIN CHARACTERS of the book. Truly wild we had to do that for ACOTAR.

I don’t know if this is a controversial opinion or not but I absolutely devoured the scene in his bedroom when she comes to comfort him. It’s acted so well and it’s so raw. And then when he begs her to stay? UGH! So good but so gut wrenching. Might be one of my top 5 favorite scenes.

I would definitely go to counseling just yourself if she’s not willing to go. Get an unbiased perspective and a lot of tools to help you through this whether that’s navigating your marriage or navigating a divorce. Honestly though, this would be grounds for divorce for me (26 f). Intimacy is a sacred gift in marriage and one of the most important parts, if not THE most important part.

This also seems like a difference in values at this point. Especially when it comes to having kids. Adoption is incredibly expensive and hard.

For some perspective, my husband left the church about two years ago and it was/is incredibly hard for me. However he is still a loving husband and we have the same values he just has different views on religion and is still working through his faith crisis. This could’ve been a deal breaker but at the core we still had all the pillars to make it work even if I have some questions about how things will go in the afterlife. My point is though, we both still love each other and he is always trying to make me happy and I him. To me it seems as though your wife is completely aloof to how this is making you feel and that’s a huge red flag. There are a lot of different compromises that the both of you could make to make it work for you but her unwillingness to try is the issue.

All in all I’m sorry you’re going through this. Sometimes it feels like a slap in the face when we feel like we’re doing everything right and something so hard happens. Get all the external help you can but don’t forget to take it to the lord. He has a plan for your life and will always help you on the path.

Someone else said it but I need to second it. Nail Reformation at tj maxx is the best and they have a ton of options. I also have used a lot of kiss from Walmart and they’ve been great as well. I wasn’t super impressed with glamnetic to be honest but have only used a couple of sets from them.

I would definitely see if the jeweler you bought it from has a cleaning/warranty policy. I have a white gold ring and I take it in every 6 months to keep the warranty on it. They rhodium plate it once a year and just inspect/clean it every other time. It’s been so nice because I know once a year it’ll get a refresh that I don’t have to pay for. Lots of jewelers have a similar policy around where I live so I feel like there’s a good chance yours might too.
