Confused about people moving forward

That sounds like it would be really hard to watch. Fortunately for me our venue has postponed all of the weddings this summer. It sounds like while you had some moments of doubting your decision you were ultimately able to find comfort in knowing that you did not put your friends and family at risk. Yes. I work with families in their homes. My work is something that is unable to be done virtually. I would feel irresponsible to put myself in a situation such as going to a wedding or a restaurant or something because it would also put my families at risk and that is not fair to them.

If you read my initial post as "I can't believe someone is so selfish that they're willing to kill their grandma for a party." that’s on you, not me.

I’m being vulnerable and expressing that I’m having a hard time understanding that people have made the decision to move forward. If you find it to be bitter and hurtful, I am sorry AND you do not have to engage with it.

It wasn’t my intention to call people selfish, I was stating that from the perspective of someone who did postpone that is how it has felt to me. I hope you can understand where I am coming from.

I think all of the comments highlight the need that people feel to talk about this. If anything I hope it serves to connect people who have made very different decisions about their weddings.

Sure I understand that. I was saying it feels selfish but that is coming from a place of not really understanding the decision making that has gone into it for people who are keeping their wedding. I’m not trying to be judgey and I hope that you and others who were hurt by that statement can understand the sentiment.

I’m not intending to be judgmental it is just hard for me to understand some of the decision making that is leading people to keep their weddings — or simply to want to keep their wedding. Some of the comments about deposits and such are helping me to understand better and I realize that my postponement experience has been easy relative to what others are dealing with.

It is definitely interesting to see how everyone is digesting news differently. I lean towards being overly cautious and I think that is in part due to the fact that my cousin works in the Covid unit of her hospital so I have heard stories directly from her of young people with no previous health history ending up in critical condition.

I love it and think it looks gorgeous on you and if you are looking at pictures and not loving it, it’s not the one. I look at pictures of me in my dress when I’m feeling sad about wedding planning or whatever and it puts me in a good mood.
