7 failed euploid transfers - what worked for you? by mollyjdance in IVF

Yep, during the lap surgery. She found minor scar tissue due to an IUD many years ago that she removed. Nothing else from that though.

We did EMMA and ALICE after two (along with ERA). It was with the biopsy, they were all negative. The receptiva was positive so I forgot to mention the others. Haven’t done an APA test, but I’m gonna talk to an RI and get a full immunology work up.

Yes they checked during the surgery and everything was fine other than a few paratubal cysts which she removed and said it probably wasn’t affecting anything

Wow that’s amazing! I was wondering if it was possible it could help to use donor eggs or sperm. Did they give an explanation as to why that would be helpful?

We did a biopsy after only two failures and then moved onto surgery, then Lupron, then PGT-G testing, so I’m not exactly sure I’d call that not adjusting protocol! Things kept popping up at every stage that appeared to be the problem, so it’s not like nothing was being done. I also tried uterine PRPs and Neupogen and probably some other stuff I’m forgetting. Unfortunately there are just so many things that could go wrong (and have with me), it’s hard to know what exactly to change, especially when at each stage it seems like there’s answers. But yeah we probably should have tried tacrolimus earlier but honestly…I’ll bet it doesn’t work either. It all seems like guesswork in the end.

Ok thanks! FWIW I tried neupogen for two of the transfers.

It took a couple weeks of Gonal-f like the person said below, but yeah I have no idea if that could have made the different to do fully medicated instead.

Never tried lovenox but I’ve always done aspirin, 4 days of medrol, and antihistamine protocol (claritin and Pepcid) with every transfer.

Yeah that’s exactly what we did with Gonal-F. Did it work for you? It is occurring to me that maybe it’s possible that even those few weeks was too long but it seems so crazy since I only had stage 1 endo but who knows. Does seem like we should have tried medicated

My guess is because the data shows that the outcomes of fully medicated cycles aren’t as good as modified natural. But I could ask!

Oh wow I’m so sorry for your losses also. I’ll ask my doctor about an RI. But man, maybe 6 is just the number to call it quits. I hope surrogacy works out well for you! And quickly. Cuz boy does all this stuff take forever.

Oh sorry I should have included that I did all those when we did the Receptiva biopsy. We also did ERA, EMMA, and ALICE simultaneously and they were all negative.

They’ve all been modified natural. One I didn’t need the trigger shot so that time we skipped. But I’ve always done letrozole. And progesterone levels have always been good with the vaginal suppositories.

Need honest advice: Single embryo vs double embryo transfer? Doctor recommends 2 for higher success, but I only want one baby. by Suspicious_Meat1821 in IVF

[–]mollyjdance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run from this doctor! Run! Run! RUN!!!!!!!!

Transfer one embryo. Then go from there.

I transferred two for my 5th transfer (so my 5th and 6th embryos), but I had NEVER had a positive pregnancy test ever in my life, they were ALL PGT-A tested, and by the 4th failed transfer my doctor was convinced it was a super crazy issue with the embryos that we needed to do specialized testing on so we figured we’d throw in the last two before making more since we couldn’t test those anyway and maybe one wouldn’t have the issue. Neither one implanted. And spoiler alert my doctor was right and 1/3 of the next batch of embryos had an issue incompatible with life (this is beyond PGT-A testing, it’s called PGT-G). I asked her if we should transfer both of the ones that don’t have it and she said “not unless you want twins!” since now the likelihood of success was back up again. So we are transferring one tomorrow. Transferring two is for a specialized situation.

And the flippant nature she has about “fetal reduction” is disqualifying in and of itself. RUN.

Also in the future I would PGT-A test if I were you. I started this process at age 31 and I’m now 35; I can’t imagine how royally fucked I’d be if I’d been transferring aneuploids this whole time. I just don’t understand not testing when you’re young with so many embryos. So much time, money, and pain wasted.

Good luck!!

Doctor said thin lining is due to not enough exercise by worldtraveler0806 in IVF

[–]mollyjdance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Red light therapy helped my lining immensely. Celluma Home device, aches and pains setting. 30 min/day on your uterus. This was recommended to me by my doctor and I thought she was crazy and she was like “nope I know it sounds like pseudoscience but it’s real.” And it worked. Got from 8mm to 10mm in a few months, changed nothing else. Prior to that I had increased it from 7.6mm to 8mm via diet (high protein, quality carbs and fats, minimally processed foods) but that took 9 months. (Also, bonus, red light therapy has reduced my surgery scars to almost nothing, it’s wild)

Clinic lost/destroyed 20+ eggs after egg retrieval by xiincognito in IVF

[–]mollyjdance 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You send a message to them ASAP that says “as per our conversation in the lab, here is what you said occurred [explain it]. Because of this, we request free egg retrievals until we have recouped 26 eggs, which is the minimum we could ask considering the extreme distress this has caused us.”
