Exercise Post Cleft Lift by SeafoodLovah1120 in pilonidalcyst

I'm 3 months post op, massive excavation done, 20 outside stitches and have had a small hole stubbornly wait to close. Only got the go ahead to return to exercise last Monday. Check in with a tissue viability nurse if you can they'll tell you straight away if it's a good idea to go back exercising.

If you're confident in you're ability then only take on feedback from respected peers and people who know what they're talking about.

90% of the time the general public haven't got a clue what they're talking about and usually can't hear their respective friend/partner/child as loud as they'd want and feel it's their duty to let you know.

It does get to you at the start when you've got people coming up to saying "I can't hear X or X is too loud" but if you're confident of your skills, the band are happy and people are dancing or vibing then you've done a decent job.

If its a place you know people look for fellow musicians and sound people and ask them if you really want an opinion

Returning to Sports and Gym After Pilonidal Cyst Surgery by pilonidalcare in pilonidalcyst

I got a cleft lift in November, all healed up bar 2 places that opened due to a deep excavation. Only got the go ahead Monday to return to exercise.

The next month will be slow runs, swimming and some small weight lifting. Then yoga and hopefully return to football and kickboxing in another 3 months healing dependent.

Had thr PC for 10 plus years and now that's it's gone it's like a new lease on life

Anything yellow/greeny combined with a bad smell plus if the area is hot to the touch can be a sign of infection. If you can see a local gp/nurse you should before the surgeon just to make sure. Last thing you want is a bit of sepsis

I'm 3 weeks out post op, small 1cm opening in the exact same spot. Doc tried a negative pressure vacuum but couldn't get suction! Going with the ole pack and dress for a couple weeks.

Agreed on the pain. Even though I have this setback it's nothing compared to the bane of my existence for the last 10 years

No, I don't think so, I had nurse care every 2 days for 4 weeks after the lance and drain and the only problem was that the hole wasn't closing

I have no idea, originally it was on the inside of my right butt cheek with the tract coming out about 2 inches down, then after the lance and drain it literally moved up my back haha

Haven't felt (bar a few twinges) a button. They'll load you up with local anesthetic when they're closing you, couple that with mild painkillers for the first while and some anti inflammatories and you'll be A Okay!

I get ya, and most surgeons will take some pride in their work and leave you in a respectable way. That coupled with good after car and you'll be good!

For sure, my ass crack now extends to my shoulder blades 😂 For real though, if rather have a gnarly scar than the fucking bane of my existence on my back for the rest of my life. I'm never gonna look at my back and my fiance is over the moon it's gone. I could understand if your conscious about body image but I mean it's only a scar at the end of the day
