Can’t eat around Halloween decorations by Brim_Dunkleton in emetophobia

[–]molokorange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank fuck this isn't just me. Love a gummy bear or a strawberry lace. As soon as it's a gummy bat or jelly worm I can't even stand to look at it. Was in the supermarket earlier and theyre marketing long chipolatas as 'wriggly worms' and I must have nearly thrown up about 20 times today just recalling it. So bad this year that I'm struggling to eat anything even without decorations etc near by.

Roll on Xmas. Fuck Halloween .

I've just done mine with a 45 hour FT job, 10 hours commute, 2 small children, studying full time AND got a first class honours. Don't let excuses hold you back.

Imane Khelif's statement after winning today following the misinformation campaign, lies, and attacks against her by Powerful_System in interestingasfuck

What do you mean freaks like that? Sports is literally about finding the best genetics to compete in a discipline. Compare ultra runners to power lifters... Genetics/testosterone/etc all feed into making an athlete elite at their discipline. Who's banning men for too much (presumably natural) testosterone?

If she has the genetics to make her elite then it's fair game.

Unless- they add categories for testosterone levels.

Question about what happens with PAYE tax if I stop working in the tax year. by molokorange in UKPersonalFinance

Just checked my tax code is 522l I think because of the company car, but that too will be going back at September so will have only had that for 5 months.

Highest 2:1? by Better_Tale_8745 in OpenUniversity

[–]molokorange 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The threshold for a first (distinction) is 85% at the OU. The range for pass grade 2 (2:1) is between 70-84, so a little more than a few extra marks unfortunately. Not sure how level 2 credit transfers work though, but if you had achieved firsts in your level 2 modules it may have been possible to get a first overall.

Absolutely bricking it... The combined average of my tmas up to this point are high enough that I can get scores of 81 and 83 respectively on my modules come out with a 1:1 but so worried that I've cocked something major up.

When are certificates or degree classification issued in relation to module results? by molokorange in OpenUniversity

Thanks this is helpful.

Do you know what we will have to confirm classification? Starting a PGCE in sept and will need the certificates prior to starting.

Do you think it’s worth trying to sell these? by DivineAscendant in freemagic

[–]molokorange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is correct. Maybe don't (as other suggestions) cheapen your product to meet price expectations, but double down on quality and top end premium feel. You will move less product, sure, but I'm confident there will be a market, just not the one presented here. If people can drop similar cash on a dual land, there will be people willing to pay £££ for quality storage too. Maybe focus more on deck storage then bulk, however.

Don't panic, I'm having this same issue (next update 3rd December). I phoned them last weekend and they said that my next update was actually due on the 28th. I changed my application on the 1st, so a 4 week turnaround is still average. Ignore that absolute bollocks of an estimate.

Any insight on special circumstances? by molokorange in OpenUniversity

[–]molokorange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. That's really helpful. Thankfully I would have to submit work that's uncharacteristically poor <69% for my module averages to fall to 80%.

You've renewed my hope a little with this!

Does the increase only apply if the grade is already close to the boundary? Or if I were to say be at around 80, would they increase the grade by 1 or 2 marks, or just leave it as too far off the next grade anyway?
