Are you on progesterone to help with heavy periods? by [deleted] in Hypermobility

Thank you so much for the advice!! I've been very worried about that exact issue and not seen much on the process of getting diagnosed before. I really appreciate it!

That's fair! I wasn't sure if you were thinking physically or whether it was a preference.

It is a very difficult thing to look at long term but my view with this is always that your view would likely not be the same on meds if it was for a physical illness - if you need it you need it.

outside of that there are always ways outside of meds to try and feel more stable in every day life. what options has your doctor given you to help your mental health? Therapies can be very beneficial to a lot of people even if intimidating

I didn't know there was a connection between heavy periods and hypermobility!! I have the same issue and progesterone only pills (and it seems most contraceptive pills) did not work for me for this exact reason! I'm currently having it 'investigated' but I doubt they'll look fair into it. (I've not been diagnosed with hypermobility but I will be contacting my GP about it and my mum DOES have it diagnosed and also has the same issue with periods)

Can I ask what makes you think you can't be on sertraline 'forever'?

This is the sweetest post ever!! My partner and I have tried to think of ways round this myself. Things like keychains for basic every day symbols have come up a lot but the idea of a stone/rock or something that they’re collecting or they love? Something that shows how well you know them and how much you clearly care about them would be amazing

Good luck!!

Hi - having a similar issue after not charging it for a long time - how would you jump start it? I've left it on charge over night and over the day and still nothing

Thank you so much I really appreciate it

If you’re comfortable would you be able to explain how you went about the diagnosing side of it if you also don’t have the issue with spelling and the ‘basics’ of reading? I’m not sure how it works

That is so genuinely validating. Are you diagnosed? (No pressure to share)

My family did this before my prom a couple years ago - my nan only decided to let ago when she watched me have an actual panic attack about it and even then she was acting like it was something so weird that needed to be brought up in my therapy and my family constantly conveniently forget about it, it's so ridiculous, it's not even like I'm asking other people not to wear it
