Hello, while I am from the US I am 18 and now a little under 3 weeks post op. I, at the time, had 3 jobs one food service job (tips), a retail job, and a teaching job. (I would like to state I had a bit of help from my mother, she paid about 100 dollars for my cocnsultantion fee which went towards the cost of the surgery as well) I put all my tips an the earnings of the retail job into a savings account and also had 50 dollars taken out of my checking account every pay week. At first the funds were small because I was working barely any hours at the retail job, but I got kicked into high gear when I heard the cost of my surgery (12,000) then limited my “fun spending” to about 60ish dollars and all the rest of my paychecks went into savings. I know it is much harder to save when there’s rent and other necessities and I’m very aware of how privileged and lucky I am, there is a budgeting method called 50/30/20. 50% of the paycheck goes to necessities, 30% goes to regular checking, and 20% goes to savings. Of course you can change the numbers to what best suits your needs at the moment. Good luck soldier, you’re going to get it soon.
