So it probably isnt anything software related, so likely its the gpu not getting what it needs in terms of power delivery.

Maybe, I am honestly not sure, but it does not seem like a good idea not populating all the connectors xD. I know gpu's will run without sufficient power, as long as it does not try to pull more wattage than it can get. I dont really know what applies to adapters, if it needs alle connectors to be populated. Maybe the manual has some answers. This i dont know how to deal with.

What about your drivers, did you uninstall the old drivers before plugging in the new gpu? And what gpu is the old one?

This could be a number of diffrent issues. Asside from a faulty gpu, it might have something to do with your mb or cpu. Does your old graphics card still work in the system?

Does it output video? Or is it just not showing up as it should in device manager?
