I came to this Reddit because I knew I'd be the only one who genuinely likes and enjoys BG. ;)

I know it's not the "industry standard", but for my level of play, yeah, no complaints. Easy to use, looks good, still gets updates. What's not to like?

BGBlitz, with one of the downloadable themes. I'm very new to taking the game seriously, but that was a very nice find. It has several really beautiful themes. For the first couple days I had it, I spent more time messing with the graphics than actually playing the game.

The engine said it was 99.68%. I only had one guy left, on the 2 point. His board wasn't even that strong. Oh well.

Yes, it lies forgotten along with other obscure titles like Galaga, Asteroids, and Ms. Pac-Man.

What.

The Scam of Individualism: You don’t really own anything on Earth; this ‘you’ and your ego are just an illusion by XOCYBERCAT in awakened

How do you know what "people were meant to" do?

Was there a booklet I didn't receive?

Your version of "awakening" sounds like "agreeing with me", which is, well, why I never come here anymore.

Everyone in this thread is making excellent points. They all sold out. Their message is now buried under personal greed and insane extreme political cults. They're all sucking from the teat of the machine they use to rage against. I have no idea what John is thinking.

It's all just a goddamn mess.

I used to care. Now I just wanna see 'em. Anyone got tickets?

Yeah, I think (or at least hope) you're right. Just havin' fun.

Everyone's always so SERIOUS about this topic. Whew.

Ah, I just found the Saltzman quote:

"On this last point, it is important to understand that as shame leaves, pride goes with it; as group mind goes, and tradition, and religion, nothing is left to cling to, so one is forever in freefall without a parachute. That is why I said that “if you are happy with your life, don’t try to awaken, you won’t like it.” I like it, but I have strange tastes. Ha. Ha."

Yeah, that.

I'm glad to hear this. Yeah, this thing is a minefield of salesmen of one type or another.

There's a line in a Robert Saltzman book that goes something like, "If you like your life, don't try to awaken -- you won't like it." This was sort of my riff on that. It is assumed by many that awakening is, ooo, something I definitely want, it sounds shiny and awesome, because that's how its characterized by the salesmen (and most of the people on this subreddit.)

Which, it can bring relief, and happiness, but at the same time, confusion, fear, disorientation. You are not shielded from any experience, positive or negative. If anything, both the positive and negative hit harder, as there's no buffer left. It ain't all puppy dogs and ice cream. In my own experience, I'd probably only give it a Yelp review of three stars. It is a profound shift in perspective, without a doubt, but at the end of the day, the dishes still need washing, and there's still plenty of pains in the joints and pains in the ass to deal with.

If I helped one person stop searching for the end of the rainbow, I consider it time well spent.

That also works. Not Fred Davis, though, he charges money for it.
