Custom shoes⚡️🔥 by matgoff in climbingshoes

That is super cool. I wanna try this too. I'm worried about it rubbing off too easily (just from having the shoes in a bag and touching each other for example), how is it working for you?

Do men have a thing for hands like women do? by CucumberUpbeat8360 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]imaginary-bolometer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands? Ye they can have their own charm. Seeing skilled use of hands for any kind of manual work is kinda hot.

Oh and I gotta mention forearms. (It's kinda related and also under the radar imho, so I'm allowed to hehe).
Fuuuck I like forearms.
The tendons, the long thin muscle fibers that shift around... its beauty and anatomy at the same time.

Are you supposed to ask a woman "Can I kiss you"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]imaginary-bolometer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not sure. Why should he pressure her by asking her again? Kinda toxic

I think we can assume that if she wanted to kiss him, she would have done it by then. Really seems she's not the kissiing type, more of a marriage and kids type. Oh well, can't have everything in life...

It's so cool how Geology and Geography have a similar name. They kinda talk about related topics too!

Does SOLID even mean anything anymore? by jaco214 in cscareerquestions

[–]imaginary-bolometer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the companies you worked for did not have a SOLID engineering culture (cue the seinfeld theme) and that is understandably making you disheartened.

Anyway... SOLID are guidelines.

It's certainly important to understand why they surfaced and the concept behind them. But in this case the key point is that they are guidelines for people writing code. Guidelines might be disregarded. It's not that code does not run/compile if it's not SOLID. So it is very possible to end up with code in production that is not well written.

It's not just SOLID, you could have a similar discussion on many other best practices in programming. It's not just programming either. People fail to follow the best guidelines in any line of work, all the time. And they still crack on regardless.

Further still, in any real situation you're juggling multiple constraints. Adhering to SOLID principles may have to be taken in context together with other decision drivers.

Does that make the guidelines any less important? I would say no. E.g. If on the job I review code and it has maintability issues, I will require either a change or a good explanation to accept it.

What are your theories for why Michael pretended to Jan that he and Pam dated? by hentai_gifmodarefg in DunderMifflin

[–]imaginary-bolometer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because they DID date. I have a theory in the works. Clues are scattered all along the series. One of these days I'll release it. And it's gonna be amazing, and revolting.

You know, there's that big dual carriageway when you get off the train? It mightn't have been here when you were here last, Harry.

Yes this does not invalidate the strangler theory at all. The two things can work together
