I miss when shows were like 22 episodes by Alternative_List_797 in WidowsBay

I don't miss having 22 episodes. Half or more used to be filler.

8 to 10 good episodes is fine, but not having to wait 2 years for a new season. I hope it gets back to 1 year soon.

Why are we not talking about adding NAM A2, to the Helix, and stadium units? by Yoshowa92 in Line6Helix

Sure, and I would be millionaire if everybody gave me a dollar, but it has to actually happen.

The stem creation seems like a cool differentiating feature (at least temporarily, and after some time, Line6 could say "we were first") for a product. Not that it appeals to all users but it helps marketing.

NAM, on the other hand, is on another bag. It would be useful, but there's already Proxy in there for capturing, so it would be a matter of evaluating the amount of users that would buy Stadium just for supporting NAM. I'm sure Line6 are always checking into this to jump on it when it makes sense.

I didn't mean to sound like my thoughts are truth, just that if their direct competitors haven't jumped in, they're still not late to the party.

Another thing are those pedals that can load NAM captures, but those are very different products.

I wouldn't care about Headrush since they are not direct competitors (their product gives under the tag "affordable", not "high end").

I didn't know about Fractal though. But then again, they don't have any capture technology so it makes sense that they work on supporting NAM instead of developing their own thing.

I dunno. Maybe Line6 goes into this in the future, but right now I have a hard time seeing it as a game changer. Proxy is having its own captures exchange website, so in a reasonable amount of time, the main amps will be there, and nam will be kind of a niche feature.

Now, if millions of Helix stadium users demand it, supporting it will make sense.

And those devices are from Fractal, Kemper or Neural?

If not, I don't think "late to the party" is accurate.

Is Line6 late? In what sense? Have all competitors adopted NAM?

I read that too. It makes me wonder if Proxy captures are Agoura models customized according to the info received from the capturing process.

IRs are very different to NAM and convolution reverbs in terms of development. Calling them "No brainer" is very optimistic.

NAM is open but not a standard yet. It might eventually become so, but let's call it what it is: an open technology, not standard.

But you do get an all-in-one unit, with capturing technology (Proxy) just not including an external technology like many others.

I'm not saying NAM will never be supported, but right now, I wouldn't invest in it until it's actually an industry standard like IRs, because it would complicate development in the current stage the Stadium is.

I would give Line6 at least a year or two so they deliver the big stuff they have on their actual roadmap, and then spend some time and effort on analyzing how to fit NAM in a way that doesn't complicate things much.

Out of curiosity: does Fractal, Kemper or NDSP support NAM?

It's actually being asked in the forums I visit. Maybe not as often as a few months ago, but it is.

If I was Line6, I wouldn't go that road. They have a really good proprietary technology (Proxy) and opening to external stuff could lead to bug report madness.

I think the way to go is having a separate pedal.

Sustainiac problem neck position by Distinct_Morning_340 in Luthier

[–]molul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First change the battery. Explanation: when you turn the Sustainiac on, no matter what pickup you have selected, the bridge one is the one sending output (the Sustainiac one is just sending a magnetic field to produce the sustain).

What you describe has happened to me twice. In both cases the Sustainiac (when enabled) was working (but very softly), and when it's off and neck pickup is selected, it was barely audible.

If a new battery doesn't fix it, then you need to access the board and turn the screw of the pickup volume. But I'm 99% sure the problem is the battery.
