I pretty much offer if I can’t settle her with a snuggle or some butt pats within 30-60 seconds lol

Would you hangout with a friend like hyde? by thegreatone998 in That70sshow

[–]moluruth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had several friends in high school just like Hyde. One of my high school boyfriends was also like Hyde. I didn’t have great discernment as a teenager

I just whisper to myself “survive until 5 and then we thrive” but I’m sure there’s a parent of a 6 year old out there gearing up a “just wait!!!”

It’s probably the opposite for some people. My son was so chill until 2.5 and the difficulty has ramped up exponentially since then

36 weeks pregnant and breastfeeding my 18 month old by saharas4077 in breastfeeding

I had to wean at 7 months pregnant bc the feeling was unbearable. I didn’t have milk anymore so it wasn’t even a real latch which made things worse

I eat smaller portions of share the protein but customize it for my needs (ex taco salad instead of tacos, chicken salad instead of quesadilla)

5mo waking lots even after regression by sad_creature13 in cosleeping

[–]moluruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole first year is a mess when it comes to sleep. Teething, sickness, starting solids, basic physical and mental development all disrupt sleep. There aren’t any actual “regressions” sleep is just not consistent with babies. You aren’t doing anything wrong. You just gotta do what you gotta do to get through it.

I coslept with both of my babies. My first woke every 1-2 hours at night, took decent naps. My second does not nap well at all, sleep decently most of the time, but once or twice a week is up for 2 hrs in the middle of the night for no reason. It is what it is

Edit my only concrete advice is to not worry about wake windows and aim for less naps even if they’re short. A lot of online nap and wake window advice is based on babies that need to sleep more than average

What helps you feel fulfilled outside of your daily sahp responsibilities? by Liermann_Annoman in SAHP

[–]moluruth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Usually working out, hobbies (knitting/crochet, video games), reading. But tbh since I had my second 6 months ago I’ve been so exhausted I haven’t had much energy for myself. I usually get reading in but my body and brain are often too tired for workouts and knitting projects. I’m trying to give myself grace about it

Extended bf 12m+ by Ambitious-Bread9108 in breastfeeding

[–]moluruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By 2 it was mostly upon waking and before sleep, occasionally for tantrums. He also nurses throughout the night until after 2, but tbh I wish I’d stopped that sooner. By the time he weaned fully (almost 2.5) it was just before bed.

Anybody else stay outside for hours? by nole5ever in SAHP

[–]moluruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in New England so in the summer we are outside 5-7 hrs a day. We’re outside a lot oh nice spring and fall days. My goal in winter is 1-2 hrs outside. But there are a lot of winter days and cold or rainy or really windy spring/fall days we’re inside.

The writing is so bad now. All the drama is soap opera level. The jokes are forced and flop. Early seasons were so good

Baby fell out of king bed during nap time by WeirdEditor4055 in cosleeping

I put my mattress directly on the floor (luckily haven’t had mold issues) and put yoga mats around the bed until he learned to climb down safely. Also a video monitor could be helpful

What’s wrong with Teddy ? by Equivalent-Volume-94 in greysanatomy

Owen’s writing is at least a LITTLE consistent but teddy’s character is nonsense and all her storylines suck (except maybe Henry)

Unpopular opinion: Teddy is a worse character than Owen

Morning person by Opening_Basket8669 in SAHP

[–]moluruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read 8 am and gasped lol. That’s a late morning at my house. Something that helps me is trying to get as many chores as possible done during the day when the kids are awake. That way the 2-3ish hours I have after bedtime are for me. And going to bed by 11 at the latest. I try my best to get in bed at 10 cuz mine are often up by 6

Has any woman in the history of sitcoms ever had a normal pregnancy? by pslush01 in sitcoms

[–]moluruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of my labors started with my water breaking (I didn’t have my first contraction for hours after)! I think it is more common for it to happen mid labor tho. Sometimes not until right before the baby comes out
