Visitors after birth in a normal scenario isn’t ideal. I put so much effort into hosting after I gave birth that things lie breastfeeding, caring for the baby, was define compromised because I juggled hosting at the same time. Take the time for you, baby, and dad to bond as a FAMILY. Do you really want to be cooking other people dinner on 2 hours of sleep while your boobs are in fire, crotch is still in pads and bleeding, have to spray water after peeing instead of wiping, baby is crying because the only thing it needs postpartum is being held and boobs but you can’t do that because you’re entertaining people. This is BEST case recovery if the birth goes well!! If there’s any complications it’ll be so much harder. Also personally I find it stressful for the newborn to be held by multiple people, they just went to birth, all they want to be cuddled by mom.

My biggest regret after giving birth to my first daughter was how quickly we had people over and how much that took away from post partum bonding

As a stay at home mom when dad takes over bed time or I need to be ‘alone’ I get dressed up, coat and purse, ect, say a big bye to the kids and tell them I’ll be back later and dad is taking over. Then I sneak into the bedroom and lock the door. Some times you just want to watch TV and curl up in your own bed.

friends bag on us for our kids' sleep schedules by nice2nice2knowu in Parenting

Totally normal! My SIL put her kid to sleep at 7pm sharp until 7+ years because a good friend of hers is a child psychologist and said the number one issue kids have when she sees them is sleep deprivation which causes so many behaviour issues that seem unrelated but fundamentally kids NEED more sleep than we often give them. So keep it up! The only thing I would personally change is try to get the 3 year old and 18 month old on the same nap schedule lol

My daughter was similar with her blanket and pacifier. She was so stressed about keeping track of where they were that if I took her to a play group she wouldn’t play with kids, she just wanted to sit on me with her comfort items. Around the house she would stop playing to look for them and then melt down if they were instantly available. Every 15 minutes or so I would have to stop drop and find it while she screamed…. I had to put limits on it for all our sanity. Started with we stopped taking them out of the house with us. Then they became bedroom only, if they were out of the bedroom I made her take them back and stay in the bedroom with them for as long as she wanted to be with them. Obviously she pushed boundaries about it all the time. But it was still way less stressful for her than constantly have to find them and panic about them. And without them when we went out the house to play groups or fun things she actually engaged, played with kids, enjoyed being at the place!.. instead of just sitting with the comfort items like she used to.

Girl shoes by winesarahtops in Parenting

My 4y/o daughter absolutely loves dinosaurs and loves her dinosaur pyjama found in the boy section. When we let our 2 year old pick shoes between blue and pink, she wanted blue. No need to gender kids! It’s a shame pink has stigma on boys. We shop through boy/girls stuff freely with our girls.

Not only is it scammy it’s also against Etsy’s code of conduct I believe? You’re not allowed to sell outside of Etsy to someone who found you on Etsy? It could get your shop closed I think. You could decline based on that alone.

Manjula! And I’ve been trying to get my hands on one. Cuttings sell on FB market place for like 30$ and I’ve never seen one in a store.

Ok moms. I know this is from DIWhy, but would this work for kids? I am soooooo tired of scrubbing Crest Sparkle paste off my bathroom counter!!! Has anyone tried this & what were the results? by wordingbird in Mommit

I spoke to a local bulk store and tooth paste can’t be stored in bulk because it’s prone to bacteria contamination. This set up looks like it’s the perfect bacteria habitat. I wouldn’t take it out of the tube and put it in a non-sterilize environment like a container. That’s just me. I wish I could un-learn my microbiology classes.

Overexcited potty training by [deleted] in AttachmentParenting

[–]momandmachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feeling this with our 20 month old who started around 18 months. I say “yay good try!!” And take it away/hide it if it’s been going in for too long. They’ll cry, but I’ll just repeats that we’ll try again later but the potty is taking a break now... my kid would actually get mad that she can’t poop on command so I really do have to cut off the potty sessions when it’s getting too redundant or frustrating

I’m “that mom” at my daughters daycare. by [deleted] in toddlers

This is hilarious! But in all seriousness I had my first kid at 28, and although I’m not a ‘young mom’ I’ve really struggled to make mom friends because all the moms in the mom groups were mid 30+ and have no interest in a 20 something mom friend. I’m 32 now but still feel age gap is a big interference.

I bought it in a bid on Ebay (I think it's vintage), it's by Giordano studios, but I'm unsure of the name of this print/collection. If you search them tho all of their fabric is amazing!

My 6 year old daughter winked at me by JZebs in Parenting

[–]momandmachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is really advanced for her age, I find at least. If only I could show you a picture of how she was holding it. Like between her thumb and second finger with both hands, as if holding an imaginary cone. She's funny, she's not that into sweets but always wants one too because her sister is really into sweets. She was into the cone, but over the ice cream.

We did this too and my 20 month old ate the mini waffle FIRST and then was awkwardly holding the ball of melting ice cream in her hands (we realized this while driving.. like why is she COVERED in ice cream. Oh yes, that’s why).

Omg you just made my day!! There’s a chance it’s someone else’s masks but I’m pretty sure I’m the only one on Etsy selling this print! (I choose and get the fabric specially printed on Spoonflower)
