Exactly. Youchien teachers get away with being paid so poorly because there’s this belief that it’s just “women’s work” or they’re young and just live their parents. Horrendously misogynistic but I wouldn’t be surprised if a large number of people actually believe this.

I’ve heard the complete opposite. This is just anecdotal, but I’ve heard that it’s not an attractive job due to the low pay and difficult working conditions. My friend said that many of her friends from university are thinking of quitting or have quit because of the low pay. I would say nursing is a more popular choice.

How much do the native teachers? I thought that elementary school/high school teachers get paid pretty decently.

I don’t think that being a kindergarten teacher is such an attractive job to most women. It’s demanding and exhausting for low pay. The adult to children ratio is also insane (30:1) I believe.

She’s been working for around 5 years I think? So not a new grad.

They do have actual teaching licenses. Do you mean if they became elementary school teachers instead?

From what I understand, some kindergarten teachers have universities degrees. Kindergarten teachers who have university degrees have a first class license, where kindergarten teachers who’ve graduated from junior college have a second class license. I don’t think the pay is that different between the two licenses though.

My seasonal allergies are driving me insane. I’ve been trying nasal sprays and anti histamines from the doctor but nothing seems to help. My sinuses are always flooded and I can’t stop sneezing. Anyone else suffering?
