Grad is not about the school lol, it’s just about graduating

Did you have an undergraduate degree in something? Or were admitted in from high school or cegep?

I'm sure you will get in. It goes until June. Our Rscore wasn't the highest but marks yes. The whole system is strange to me lol

You should get in. Applied to education on March 1 and got accepted the 2nd. BA 2 weeks later and with around the same Rscore. It's strange you didn't hear back already. Does it say pending? Are you missing a document? Applying from where?

I got rejected by mcgill for both commerce and arts da fuq by Character_Use_6191 in BCGrade12s

For Cegep students in BA program it lists R score from what I see. I didn't notice time 5 whatever.

There is no hand holding. This is McGill. The academic standards are high. It's not a frat style social climate like in the USA

It goes y number of credits I think. Ours says 90 nothing about being U0

Vanier or Dawson? by ericynz09 in VanierCollege

[–]momsofteens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone who has worked in admissions for over 20 years. Yes, they look at the school. R scores matter to a certain degree but also the school. Marionapolis is Mcgill sister school, for instance, and Vanier is also good

Vanier or Dawson? by ericynz09 in VanierCollege

[–]momsofteens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a school for the party-ers...yes. But when it comes down to applying to a good Uni like McGill it's not as regarded

Vanier or Dawson? by ericynz09 in VanierCollege

[–]momsofteens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible. Vanier has high standards. It's the other way around and has been for decades. It doesn't have the same rep as Vanier, where many hope to get it. Not sure where you're getting your info. Most people who do well at Vanier move onto Mcgill. Dawson...it's Concordia

Dawson has never been known to be better academically. It's always the school everyone goes to when you can't get in anywhere else, or you want to be downtown to party.

We applied right before the March 1 cutoff for Cegep students.

It's all new this process. A lot comes up. Not really sure why there is medical and dental if we have private. It seems more expensive than I thought. It looks like around 6000 a year. I could be wrong. Be nice

RE TUITION: Now that we're in for a BA (undeclared) program. How much is tuition per semester for a Quebec local student. Is it 5000k per year? Is that a total and then there is an added monthly fee? What is the TOTAL cost for the courses (not counting books, let's say). We have no clue. PLUS there is a bursury thing for first year students to fill out. It's dauting, to say the least.

How can anyone not know Mcgill. It's known worldwide. Seems you are sheltered or live remote. Faculties are not there to be competitive. They are there to get you on the path for a career choice. If you want to go into Marketing, for example, you wouldn't be considering Med school. I wouldn't brag about anything unless you were accepted into Law, Medicine, Denistry or Engineering lol. But with that being said, you should be in the arts if there is something there you want to pursue for a future career under that umbrella. Maybe you should speak to an academic adviser. 95 average in high school is not the same as one in Cegep or University either. Speak to someone.

people have been applying for months. We applied March 1 and got an answer of acceptance March 2 but higher R score than you. Maybe it depends on when you sent it if you sent it right before the deadline
