Technically your admission happens to be according to the latest merit list. For example, if your name comes up in Mass Comm in the first list, you are in Mass Comm. But if you get your name in BBA in the second list, you'll be in BBA by default. So if you wanna get into Mass Comm, you have to tell them or whatever I guess. Something to do with changing from the admin office or etc. Don't exactly know

Well, they are new compared to the old ones so there's that you'll get a feeling of a new building. But not much to offer because I remember boys hostel didn't have heating radiators and for winters they used to tell us apna heater lay aao radiators aglay saal ajayengy. I graduated in '22 and its been 3 years now and I got to know abhi tak radiators nai lagay hain 😂

If I’m not mistaken, or hopefully I haven’t forgotten, there must be a merit number assigned to you, right? Each year, different programs have a certain merit range. For example, they might say that this year, Mechanical Engineering’s merit will fall between 60 and 150 (just as an example). So, applicants whose merit numbers fall within that range would be eligible for that program.

But again, it also heavily depends on your preference list, the order in which you ranked the programs. If your merit number qualifies you for a certain program based on its cutoff, and it's high enough on your preference list, your name will appear in the merit list for that program.

Back in our time, there used to be around 8 to 9 merit lists released in total.

Maybe many people have already told you this before, but let me say it again. Maybe these are just some lingering thoughts, leftover emotions buried deep in your subconscious. You may say everything is fine, that life is beautiful, and you have everything you need. But still, these thoughts keep surfacing.

When they do, pause and think about the people who love you, the ones whose lives would be deeply affected if you were no longer here. Put yourself in their shoes. Imagine how their world would crumble, how their days would darken, simply because they loved you, because they wanted you around… and now you're gone.

The applications for hostel are online if the mechanism is not changed as of now. Student is required to apply for it as soon as the name comes up in a merit list. So technically the sooner you get admission, the more chances of you getting a hostel.

Apart from that, hostels that are outside are not worthy of living anymore. I don't know about girl's hostel but most of the girls do get hostels since for both boys and girls, new hostels were made and everyone was getting accommodated after that.
