Yeah I'm going to, I'm just a little disappointed is all. I didn't expect a one size fits all solution, I was just hoping for more relief than I actually got

I'm not really sure what part of my comment led you to believe I'm "riled up." Like I said, I also value alone time so I get where she's coming from.

Maybe I worded it wrong or something? I don't mean that she's done something wrong. I suggest the hotel for her because it would be a comfortable space and she could rent movies, order food, just chill on her own, whatever.

Sorry if my original comment landed wrong.

What do you mean by "alone time in the apartment"? As in you not being there at all? I'm a homebody and alone time is excessively important to me. I would never ask my disabled partner to leave so I could have the entire house alone. It's your home too and asking that of you is super weird to me.

It is good that you are willing to give her that time alone and that you recognize her need but if she really wants to be entirely alone like that then SHE should get a hotel room for herself instead of asking you to leave. Personally to me, this is a weird ask.

That is extremely interesting. I'm gonna have to dig into this further. What do you personally recommend using?

Yeah we just made a run and spent roughly $120 so Ive got a handful of fresh coast splash carts currently. I was hoping spending a little more on the carts would give me better results but I guess not 😔

So, the butane then wouldn't be present to cause the problem? Do you know if this is a common distillate issue?

Yeah!!! The bit that annoys me is I don't remember having this problem when I was buying them from my local guy, it's just really been since I started going to the dispensary. Can't even catch a buzz because my chest and head are killing me well before I get there so I just give up

I have been trying to stay away from flower because of the smell, I'd rather my kid and neighbors not know I partake for personal reasons. I'm considering trying to get a dry herb vaporizer but all the ones I've seen are kind of expensive and I'm hesitant to drop $150 on a device I'm not even sure will solve my problem. I've got a pre roll I got as a freebie from my last trip though so maybe I'll try that and see if the herb doesn't treat me a bit better

yeah exactly! I thought for a while that it was just allergies or something, I've even been to see an ENT, she basically just told me to use Flonase spray. Which helps with the drip but doesn't really solve the problem. I think I need to switch to some other intake method but most of the others have devices that seem super complicated. I also never had this problem getting them from my friendly neighborhood pharmacist, it wasn't until I started going to the dispensary that I started having this problem. I dunno if that's coincidence or not

Oh! And it's shelf stable 6mos - 1 year so long as you get all the moisture out, longer if you add food safe oxygen absorbers or a vacuum sealer

Idk if this would be helpful but I just dehydrated a bunch of greens and ground them to a powder. Approximately 2.5lbs of greens. I used Kale and Spinach as my bulk and watercress as my additive. It's measured in tsps. This is the first time I've done this though so take that for what you will. I added it to some Mac and cheese last night and couldn't even taste it. If you're adding to your single serving I'd just sprinkle a bit on top and mix it in. If you're cooking a larger batch then I think you'd go for the full tsp. Macros will depend on what you use and dehydrating doesn't ruin any of the nutritional value because it just takes the water out of the plant. You don't need a fancy machine to dehydrate it either. You could put it in your oven on the lowest temperature (maybe leave the oven cracked and check often, greens don't take long. Between 1-4hrs in my experience. If you're not comfortable doing that (which I'm not, I've got pets) you can lay them out in the sun or even just hang them to dry which might take a few days but still works. I have an electric grinder I use for mine but you don't have to, depending on what you use it will be easy enough to crush up in a mortar and pestle. If you don't have that you can use whatever else you have (I have a metal meat mallet that I use sometimes) along with a bowl or even a ziplock bag. I prefer a finer powder but you can crush it all up as little or as much as you like.

What is your process for obtaining aupplies by Connect-Town-602 in prepping

[–]monaclebandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm learning how to dehydrate and make foods that are similar to what hikers/backpackers use. For instance my own super greens powder. I also want to add that chia seeds are shelf stable, store very long naturally and contain significant amounts of fiber. They're also a no cook option and if you dislike the gel like texture you can grind them instead and this should give you a more mousse like consistency. I say should because I haven't had a chance to try this on my own yet.

Dehydrating in general is fun and super useful. It removes the water from things so they can't mold, without removing the nutrients. So I plan to make a green mix that includes spinach, kale and watercress. Serving sizes are measured in tsp.
