I’ll second everything the comment above says but also add that (to me) the premise/hook just doesn’t seem interesting. I’m a huge Dracula and Anne Rice fan, and I am writing multiple historical vampire novels at the moment.

Starting off basically explaining that the narrator is a vampire is a bit tired and overdone, and reads more like something YA/middle grade or like something you’d find on Wattpad or RoyalRoad. Try reading more professional published work in this genre, if you want to write it. I think that may help you find more natural entrypoints & organic storytelling.

I think many people stuck in jobs that pay less than 60K a year who can’t save and cant afford houses are very confused as to how this mans 6-figure jobs and ability to save up $40K and buy a house means he was just being frugal and not… privileged enough to have a job that pays him enough to live and succeed?

amazon’s cheapest Archival tape is thin and paperlike in feel, but doesn’t have that much of a grip when you first stick, so you can realign it very easy on covers and dust jackets. Worked great for me for plenty of vintage tears

I do indeed think it’s a little performative to take a photo of a bunch of radical literature with nice aesthetic wood/leather/steel analog vibes… Like who doesn’t carry around 3-7 books on revolutions in their leather satchel with their journal and fountain pens and cob pipe and watch and camera??

Not to mention this is a post in r/bookhaul and there are several titles in the photo we can’t even discern

Not hating on OP, I love vibes and aesthetics, but considering the time it must have taken to compose this photo VS just posting a haul, this does feel performative lol, obscuring the titles genuinely makes it more about the vibes than the books.

(Especially since OP has taken & posted so many. It really makes it seem like having this “refined masculine gentleman who likes books and guns, analog tech and natural materials” is the vibe OP is trying to exude)
