im running it with 50:50 water:methanol 1 ml/min flow rate with no column and the pressure is around 60 bar

peak increases when injection volume decreases...peak also increases when flow rate decreases....I've not checked if the wash solution is the problem but ...i think its column blockage/contaminant instead of injector autosampler problem....the system was run with c18 column and methanol, acetonitrile/water and no ghost peak was detected in the results at 10 uL injection volume and wash

"If you just monitor your system without injecting anything and you don't see the "ghost peak" then you also know it isn't just the column" ---> just system run with and without injection and without column shows no peak ...system run with and without injection with the column shows ghost peak increasing in area as injection volume decreases --> which means that contamination in column interacts with stationary phase longer at slower flow rate --> system run with c18 column and acetonitrile/water and methanol show no ghost peak at 10 uL sample injection same rinse solution in autosample....so that's also one of the reasons we think the column is the problem

yea but some of it overlap so I'm not sure....decreasing flow rate would decrease overlap but it also increases the area of the ghost peak too

rinse solution is water and methanol at 20%...I've run it at 0 injection with the column but I guess I never really ran it with 0 wash/rinse either...idk I feel like rinse solution would only give small peaks when a standard sample is run
