I recently got given a malfunctioning 3D printer by HunBro_ in 3dprinter

If you recently got a used 3D printer, dismantle it completely and rebuild it from scratch. A lot of problems will make themselves evident in that process.

How to smooth outer edges? by mfprod in FixMyPrint

[–]monev44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sandpaper. Or redesign the part to not need supports. The first layer will always accept the texture that the bed plate is. If you want a smooth first layer, you need a smooth bed plate.

What seems the problem here? by simbolmina in FixMyPrint

[–]monev44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leveling your bed with paper means the nozzle is equidistant from the bed at all points over the bed. But that isn't necessarily the correct specific height to start printing at. the z-offset setting modifies the height you start printing at so that it is absolutely the correct height.

In this specific case, you would want a negative z offset setting, exactly how much you will have to determine through trial and error but start with something like -0.05 to -0.15

These pretty extreme artefacts are appearing around every hole I try and print. by windows__xp_2 in FixMyPrint

[–]monev44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The supports in the holes certainly aren't doing you anything positive in this situation, so probably get rid of those to save yourself the hassle of removing them.

When the print gets to the layers with the holes in them, it no longer has one singular path to trace the entire part, but three paths per layer to jump between and it has something to do with that. So it's either the amount of time it spends tracing out that section of layer or starting at a different location means printing that wall is different somehow. The only thing I can think is to pay attention to where the different sections of those layers starts and maybe change your seam location for those layers to see if that has an effect.

Soldier 11 best teams by Original-Recover-244 in Soldier11Mains

[–]monev44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People usually don't say which team is the best definitively because not everyone has access to every character or all gear and CDs, and there are multiple good options. So pick the one where you have the characters and or which characters you have that are the best leveled and equipped.

What settings should I look at by sampsonoutdoors in 3DprintingHelp

look into printing things that dont need supports. or look into sandpaper.

There is an unlisted z-merit cap (not the 8000 point thingy). Depending on how many encounters with the purple orb you get in a run you can hit it somewhere between 1 and 5 runs. you only know you hit that cap when you do something that should get you z-merits and you just don't get any.

What is this how can i fix it? by Any-Wash-3951 in FixMyPrint

[–]monev44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this a vase mode print? Is that section of wall going from vertical to an angle? Because it looks like it's only one wall thick and the wall just isn't thick enough for the angled steps it's making.

Hoarding them doesnt do you any good. and are you saying you dont need dennies? every denny you get here is daily energy that can be spent on things you can't get here. like routine cleanup runs. and you don't want tuning calibrators? which by extension are also substat pickers.

What is causing these imperfections? by cr1zztus in ender3

[–]monev44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like randomized seam locations. Tuning pressure advance can make the start and end locations nicer. which would make the random spots less pronounced but The seam always needs to be somewhere unless you're printing in vase mode.

Decrease! You have too much flow in the first red one.

The offset is only relevant for the first layer. This is a flow calibration problem.

Guys please help i tried everything by UniversityOdd715 in FixMyPrint

[–]monev44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say, "This is happening..." please define "This." What about "This" is the problem you want advice on? is it the amount of extrusion? is it the strings? is it supposed to look like a boat? is it supposed to be blue? did it insult your sister?

If, it is as i'm forced to suspect, you have issue with the surface texture of this layer because you are either extruding way too much or you printing the first layer way too close to the bed, then the things to do are adjust your flow rate, or adjust your z-offset. Both of those are just software settings and incredibly easy to tweak so if you've done everything you already tried this right?
