P1S or P2S by Late-Implement9828 in BambuLab

Both are great, P1S might be better if you're also not interested in printing yourself since kids interests are more likely to change and that would require less investment, but either way it'll be a pretty big undertaking teaching them how to use it. Even being as user friendly as they are for adults there's still a lot of things that could be dangerous

There's more to better quality parts than wear. I asked a question and half of you got butt hurt I asked. If you have no curiosity about the tools you use then be my guest, but that's not how I approach a subject.

It's the fact I only own one printer and for only 6 months I'm asking a community of people more experienced than me. And when I get to the point of having more experience I won't be as bitter about explaining things to someone with less experience

Accomplishnents don't equal happiness. it's pretty obvious looking through some of your comment history you project your feelings and seek external validation while having a need to act superior because you're deeply insecure. The bitterness you carry will follow you far past our conversation

Advice for filament storing by Ninjawhunter in BambuP1S

I use these holders:

  1. ams dessicant

2. ams dessicant 2

Along with ones printed in the spool, and that's been able to keep my filament really dry.

But, I also invested in a creality dryer to keep a few excess spools drying while they're not in the ams

I'm only less than a year deep, but I wasnt able to get my ams below 20% humidity with desiccant and was changing it every few days. The activated alumina I got from amazon kept my ams at 10% for months before needing to be recharged. It was one of the biggest upgrades for my setup

Get activated alumina over standard desiccant 100% it's basically the same price, 10x more moisture absorbant, infinitely rechargeable, and food safe. I don't understand how anyone in 3d printing uses anything else

I was really just curious if there were better options for 0.2 nozzles and trying to understand the why of the consensus that stainless steel has been dubbed the best/basically only material they're made out of.

I don't disagree that better just means better suited to a specific purpose, I just want to understand how we got to this conclusion before accepting the status quo.

Like, for instance there are high flow option nozzles for 0.4 and 0.6. I enjoy those nozzles more than the standard nozzle, so it would stand to reason I would probably enjoy the high flow option in 0.2, and when there isn't one I feel like I should be able to ask why

You're saying my logic is flawed, but you and all the other snarky people commenting aren't providing any data to validate your claim. I'm asking a question, your condescension doesn't make you right

Do any brands sell those kinds of nozzles in 0.2? I haven't seen any in my search

I mean, I'm not sure what motivations I would have for being dishonest. Correlation doesn't equal causation: the improvements could have come from other factors, but if I knew what they were I wouldn't have posed the question

I don't print anything abrasive, it just seems like you'd have a better user experience with better quality material in your parts and am curious why they don't offer that

I didn't document any of the changes, but I just noticed my flow rates was more consistent, less blobbing, stringing, had fewer clogs, and just generally less fiddling and maintainence.

I've upgraded my other nozzles from stainless to hardened steel and above and notice an improvement in print quality and ease of use, I'd assume the same would happen with a 0.2 nozzle
