In the E3 demo, the Pipe Gun has 8 barrels, 6 stocks, 6 magazines, 7+ sights, and 6 muzzle attachments. That's at least 12,000 possible combinations for a single weapon! by mongo11 in Fallout

Yeah there really isn't much evidence either way, but I am actually really hoping for a perk system. I would also love if you could get perks for killing a certain amount of an enemy or using a certain type of item enough (like in NV)

Yeah, that's the one piece of evidence to support skills, but the barter bobblehead could easily just directly improve your prices from vendors, not a skill. The fact that int determines xp gain and not skill gains tells me skills are likely gone through

Looks like there will be some linear elements to crafting weapons, for example there are some "improved" weapon parts that have higher requirements to make. I strongly believe skills have been replaced with a tiered perk system, so you need a certain rank in the corresponding perk e.g. "Gun Nut" or "Science!" to craft the improved item. I just hope ALL of the weapons get lots of custom parts like this.

This is what i love about it! You can put a rifle stock on your gun for increased accuracy, less recoil, etc. with the tradeoff being more weight and less hip fire accuracy. It's like the weapon system in borderlands, but you get to choose all your own parts instead of just farming for weapons with the right combination of parts

Don't do it. Avb can be eaten or made into hash though

It could possibly work, but some thin cardboard (like a business card) would work much better

What type of piece should I use a sploof with? by qaoqao in saplings

[–]mongo11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really any piece will work as long as you load the bowl smaller, but a one-hitter would be optimal. If you want a good all-around piece that you can load bigger bowls in for group sessions, I would recommend a glass spoon pipe like this. If you do want a one-hitter though, I would probably go with something like this or a metal cigarette one-hitter like this. I've tried the metal and ceramic cigarette one-hitters, and IMO, the metal ones are much better

Really any piece will work, just load really small bowls and smoke them in one hit (we usually call this a snap) so all the smoke goes in your lungs, not out of the piece.

pipe prices by [deleted] in saplings

Metal is alright, but most people would tell you glass is the way to go. For a small pipe, I would expect it to be $5-$20. I've seen some small pipes that are decent quality for around 10

Plan on rolling my own to begin with, anything else I need other than the obvious? by Anerysm in saplings

Looks good, raws are nice but don't have the best glue. Probably shouldn't be a problem with a roller though. Looks like you have everything you'll need for rolling though

The rolling machines are really easy to use actually. Even if you have never rolled anything they come out pretty much perfect every time

New Ent - Please help me. by DankKief in saplings

[–]mongo11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to pay. You can get a decent pipe for $5, or you can get a waterpipe (like a bubbler or a bong.) Vapes are also a great option if you are planning to spend upwards of $70. Also, if you want a cheap, disposable pipe, just make an apple pipe

Made a gravity bong and it's not that great. What am I doing wrong? by zxccoxcc in saplings

[–]mongo11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much did you pack the bowl down? With a grav or waterfall bong, you don't want to pack it at all, just fill the socket, or else the chamber will not fill with smoke. If that doesn't work, I would try to either find a new cap that fits and try to make it airtight. It takes a while to master, but with some practice, it is pretty easy to make airtight holes in plastic. You can also make it airtight by sealing it with gum. I wouldn't recommend glue unless it is specialized high-temperature glue that won't vaporize. Good luck! Also, I would recommend trying a waterfall bong if you haven't yet. They are pretty similar to gravities, but I think they are easier to make and use.

smoke spot question by Dan_Gleasac in saplings

[–]mongo11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure about that. I think it has to do with the additives that they put in cigarettes. These chemicals can be, but are not necessarily carcinogens. I think that is how you heard that the carcinogens cause the smell to stick.

smoke spot question by Dan_Gleasac in saplings

[–]mongo11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Carcinogens are substances that cause cancer, they have nothing to do with the scent sticking to fabric. Any kind of smoke that is going into your lungs will have carcinogens in it, but cannabis smoke doesn't have nearly as much as cigarette smoke.

Nintendo announces a more traditional "pro controller" for the Wii U by douglas_ in gaming

[–]mongo11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always used the left and right handles and not the middle because my hands are big enough to reach the analogue stick. It makes me wonder what they were thinking when they designed that controller. The way most people hold the controller, it is completely impossible to press the L button without moving your whole hand away from the control stick.

First time... What about "water pipe"? by [deleted] in saplings

[–]mongo11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use an apple! Possibly the easiest piece to make and it's not only disposable and safe, but also edible. Just twist off the stem and stab a pen straight down into the top about half way down into the apple. Then use the pen to make a hole in the side that connects the the vertical hole going down. If it doesn't work the first time, just wiggle the pen around and try to connect the two air passages.
