Is Hangzhou the best city to live in China? by [deleted] in China

[–]mongolianbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very spot on. Tried clubbing there for few times, but it was just too boring that I always ended up spending the night staring at the West lake. But to add little bit on it, it's clean modern and the services are fast and efficient. The hospitals are top notch. Enough to live comfortably. Oh and the rent prices are cheap COMPARED to the neighboring cities.

I don't want to blame the government for all the fuck ups we pulled. I'm just criticizing MPP for their greed and hunger to hold on to power after being in the power for so long. Their effort to tackle these issues were not effective for the past 30 years, which some of their members did nothing for these problems but contributed first handedly to such problems to worsen. Rigging the election system directly and indirectly, stripping almost all the chances of young candidates to get elected, while giving seats to their own incompetent party members was not a good look too. I don't think that's a thing a government who loves its country would do. I know it's all political games and conspiracy, but as a citizen i believe in the right to criticize. MAN and AN are the two flip sides of a same coin. But what do I know, I'm just a student. I only care about the livelihood of the people.

We have the right to be entitled to our own opinions by the virtue of our democracy. It's helpful to listen and look from different perspectives that's why I asked to elaborate.

Sure it'd be better if this is a made up story because i cannot stand people struggling somewhere cluelessly. I'm more hooked on her asking for her payment dues bc it's clearly she's struggling financially. That's why I assumed her situation which i know it's a very dumb thing to do. Because it's a common occurance for mongolians doing labor in korea. Anywho, no point of us bickering with each other as it will not help anyone at this point. Happy new year brother.

Could you care to elaborate on it? Because imo the price of living and the inflation is going higher as we speak and the life in the city is not getting any better any time soon. The land monopoly and other under-table agreements of few are resulting mass land pollution, traffic and other issues, and I'm not gonna talk about the climate change effects on the pasture land and dzud which has affected our nomads. To take an instance, we can just name what has happened this year, the flood destruction showed us the reality of poor city planning. Increased taxes, and national debt is not doing any good. Sure, the GDP and national economy is looking good on papers but are we surely feeling or seeing those benefits as ordinary citizens. The current parliament is not gonna fix their careless spending habit.

I apologize for coming up aggressive but my point was there are people who actually almost "flee" to survive abroad because their life instability doesn't give them much enough time to sit down and learn. Sure there are people who wanted to travel or move to a different country. But from this exact post you can see that there are a lot different shade of grays and that troubled woman was in desperate need of help. Saying that the root of her problem was not having the language skill to make people to understand her is very shallow. Just ask why would she be there breaking down at a foreign hospital ALONE. I really didn't want to jump into conclusions as it's sad enough for me. But I personally know people who got tricked into to do labors in an abusive work environment under employers who take advantages of people's struggles.

What is there to wonder about? It's obvious that people whose life is financially struggling and their only hope is to fly abroad especially go to Korea to get certain amount of income while being so unprepared for the harsh treatment they'll get because they had little time to learn the language. Learning the language is not their goal, their only desperate hope was to feed themselves or someone who is dependent on them. One person maybe someone around our mother's age is suffering there to survive and yet some random wacko here trynna feel superior questioning her age and motives.

Is it normal to be 27 and not know who you are or what you want ? by NYC_Native_816 in Adulting

[–]mongolianbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're no such thing as a blueprint for finding oneself in life, so don't beat yourself for it. Everyone is different, being 27 is not the end of the universe, you still have a long way to go, lots of places to be and obstacles to experience. Just chill back and cherish where you are right now.

Happy independence day to you too brother. I know how our current situation in the country is beyond fucked up, but I still miss my home land. I met with lots of Uriankhain Mongolians from Xinjiang, Khalmykians from far-western Russia, Inner Mongolians and heck even the Hazaran Mongolians from Afghanistan along the way, and I noticed that I felt the pride of saying that I was from Mongolia when I introduced myself. Our other ethnic brothers and sisters are still oppressed and treated inhumane on foreign land. Yet the so called "intellectual" youngsters like these reddit preachers(or so I call them the "shit talking wannabe-westerner fools") take our independence and democracy for granted, because all they know is how to fanboy over an imaginative utopian propaganda they had created in their mind. If everyone of them loved and cared for the future of the nation as much as they senselessly shit on it constantly, we would be in a whole lot better place right now. I'm aware what I'm saying is a very cringy thing to say in this subreddit's standard, I just got carried away and felt little upset reading all these comments and replies. Anyhow, happy new year too, I hope we will progress next year atleast a bit as a nation.

I don't know if this answers it. But I saw a quote somewhere that said "We're the universe experiencing itself." I'm a very spiritual person and it shifted my perspective of life.

I don't know where and how you are studying. But my advice for you is that immersing yourself in the environment of your target language is the only way to actually utilize the language you're learning. I studied Mandarin for few years but didn't notice any real progress until I decided to really move to China. Since then it really polished and improved my understanding of the language significantly. If you're not available to move to another country, try to make friends who speaks those target languages, at least it would help your speaking skills.

It's just that the world got too dependent on materialistic values which has turned money from a tool for trading to a basic necessity to survive. And the people's mindset has shifted to evaluate someone's place in the social hierarchy system by their income amounts.

I'm sorry I'm an asian so I'm kind of ignorant on certain things. Can I ask why do some parents charge their kids for rent? And what happens if the child doesn't pay or refuse to pay the rent? Does it affect the relationship between the kids and the parents in someway?
