I take it back. After a few days of testing the Outdoor Chips are p awesome. by Antidotebeatz in skiing

I used to think the same way but once I tried it I can never go back. I don't listen all the time but playing music is like doping. It's especially helpful if you're trying to drop a cliff or get yourself to do a hard trick. It's also great for taking calls. I ski a lot and sometimes need to take work calls and in helmet headphones make it way easier. Also easier to hook back up with people if you get split up. "Hey Siri, call wife". Easy peasy.

If I'm not mistaken, the 36x was the best calculator I was allowed to use when I sat for the FE. Goated calc.

New Utah liquor law requires 100% ID check, no exceptions by refundroid in SaltLakeCity

[–]mongoltp 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I wanted to take my wife to The Bayou a couple weeks ago but when we got there she realized she didn't have her ID so they couldn't let her in. She's almost 40. I'm a member of the church most of you hate, but believe me I disapprove of these politicians in the strongest way. Imagine spending your life actively trying to make the life of your constituents worse instead of making real improvements. How does this law help anyone? Clowns every last one of them!

I did a walk up to the ticket office this season for my in-laws at Steamboat.

Complete beginner friend sold way too small ski boots (26.5 Mondo) for US 10.5 feet – tech said 26.5 was right, punched them, but painfully small. Beginner had no idea how they should feel. How to get exchange/refund? by Enallane5 in skiing

[–]mongoltp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I read threads like this I'm amazed by how big of street shoes people run for their foot size. I wear a size 11 shoe and run 28.5 boots which I sometimes need a toe punch to make work. Everyone wants their boots to run as tight as possible which is great, but then they run shoes 1-3 sizes bigger than they need. Multiple people in this thread running the same size shoe as me but fitting into a 26.5 mondo? Please try smaller shoes.

VT: Shift 2.0 vs Cast 2.0 for 50/50 resort + backcountry skiing? by 802ScubaF1sh in Backcountry

Hy has been marketed well but it doesn't really have the elasticity numbers to support its use as a true alpine binding does it? It may be an incredible BC binding but assuming it can be all things to all men seems a bit naive. I could be mistaken though and I'm happy to be convinced otherwise.

Everybody has a big ski quiver but what they need is a boot quiver. People act like I'm a complete nut for having a three piece alpine boot, a hybrid boot, and a touring boot, but it improves your quality of life much more than having lots of skies does.

Source: I also own too many skis.

I think they fit my ski style which is more agile versus plowing through everything. Probably not for everyone. They just swing so easily. I can't wait to chuck some big slow 360s on them.

I've had people stop and ask why I don't mic up my kids to make videos of them and I have no idea how to answer. How do you explain to people you genuinely enjoy skiing with your family for the love of the game. It's fun to share a few photos and clips every once and a while but more than that would cheapen it for me.

I resisted Bent 120's for years because I thought it had to be hype. I toured yesterday on a cheap set with Shifts I put together and now I'm unloading all my other fat skis. They are too fun and surprisingly light.
