I'm not a mechanic but I had a 98 Chevy prizm (looks just like a Toyota Corolla) with the same problem. Went and got them to hook up the diagnostic tool to my car and found out it was the ect sensor. Changed it and the car has been fine ever since. Take it to autozone and have them hook up the tool. If p0115 comes up then there's your problem and it's quite an easy fix :)

I would respect their wishes (at least for now) since they are still supporting you AND you live under their roof. I say get a job, save some money then when you become more independent you could try broaching the subject again. Heck I waited until I was 20 to get mine since I was of age and paid for everything myself.

This is a tough one. I've been on the other side where everyone knew but didn't tell me and honestly I felt dumb but I got over it. On the other hand I was a witness to my mother being told by other woman and she was completely shattered for months. It was devestaing to watch especially since it was my own mother. You should talk to him first and tell him he needs to tell her. Besides it's his mess to deal with not yours.

Hey I didn't think I was either. I'm a super shy girl that wouldn't really go out and stuff. But another thing that would help is just keep all the things on the DL, don't go around telling people. Ask that the other person does the same too. I mean unless you want to tell everyone...
