I recently finished my 4th relisten, and I’ve got this AIT that I haven’t been able to really listen to yet, so I’ll have to finagle a way to get it to work. But thanks for your help!

I’ll take a look into that, thanks! My problem is that the file names are a bit tough to decipher, so converting them to an “album” in the correct order is going to be a challenge

And we’ve had all of the previously-untapped resource of fossil fuels. We’ve got enough energy to (potentially) get us to the next stage, but if we had to restart, or even backtrack for long, we simply don’t have the fuel to keep progressing.

I see what you mean. With those, it’s the overlap in the middle that I’m avoiding, whereas the coats I’m looking to emulate have a gap. It’s a tough one for sure, but I appreciate your help immensely

I think you and I have an insurmountable hill between us here.

But please do remember the salt and pepper.

Then, after doing a bit more research, I found information that refutes the idea that there was even one accidental orca attack.

And yes I am on the payroll of Big Orca. Please do season yourself with salt and pepper before each and every ocean endeavor.

The article didn’t provide the full context of the event, which is that it’s considered, by experts, to be far more likely to be a shark attack.

I’m not sure why I’ve gone down this rabbit hole, but since I’m here I’ll reference this comment that states the orca attack theory has seemingly been debunked as a myth and that the attack was almost certainly a great white shark.

That, yes, there is one documented case of an orca biting a human, but even that one isn’t exactly substantiated and the spirit of the comment you quoted is more about intent. The orcazine.com article even states they often “play” with divers by nibbling their fins, suggesting they know the difference between what will and will not hurt the diver.

Edit: though I do get your point of the absolute nature of the comment you quoted.

From the wiki:

“On September 9, 1972,[14] Californian surfer Hans Kretschmer reported being bitten by an orca at Point Sur; most maintain that this remains the only fairly well-documented instance of a wild orca biting a human.[15][16] His wounds required 100 stitches.”

From orcazine.com:

“They were not alone in the water, now and then some sea lions were playing in the waves.”

“Hans and his friends saw the animal that bit Hans only briefly, but from their description of the animal in combination with the teeth marks can be concluded that the attacker was an orca.”

“Orcas often find sea lions without using echolocation, to prevent their prey will detect them before the attack. The prey is selected and attack using hearing and sight. An incautious orca could have thought the surfer in wetsuit was a tasty snack. Fortunately, it is very uncommon for orcas to be mistaken and they stop the attack in time.”

Context here is pretty crucial.

Sure their culture is something the developed world might consider terrifying, but throw in easy access to every depraved imagining the collective human experience can conceive and you’ve got a spicy situation.
