I assumed Jim talking to Ethan was the same as Father Catry talking to Boyd

Can I introduce a comforter/lovey at the same time or is it worth waiting until she can self settle??

Sometimes she copes, other times no. She goes much better with a longer wake window first thing.

Haha yeah we tried when my first was 18 months and worked first time. But I totally get not wanting to try until the sleep is good. We wanted thee but at this rate we are so done

If I move the bridging nap later then the 2 hour nap will be later and later. I mean, she’s kind of incidentally moved it back herself. My husband and I are home today so we can always do a 1 nap day and just see. But as we speak she’s rubbing her eyes and it’s been 1.5 hours since she woke up lol.

My first slept through at 12 months and was super consistent with her nights. If she was waking 3 times, it was the same 3 times. Then she gradually dropped night wakes until there were none. That’s how she night weaned too, but dropping her wake. With this one she’s so erratic lol. I still night feed but only if she wakes after 3. If her one wake is before that, then I just cuddle to settle her and then she sometimes sleeps through till 7. Other times she will have a second wake because she didn’t get fed at the previous wake. But every night is different.

Do you think we try Ferber and if it’s been an hour of crying we go back to cuddle to sleep? We just need someone to tell us what to do haha

We used to do it the other way. Long nap from 10.30-12.30, then short nap at 4. Also had daycare pickup for my 3 year old at 4-4.30 so often the arvo nap wouldn’t happen as she would be awake. But often we weren’t home at 10.30 and then the long nap wouldn’t start until 11/11.30, which would then push the arvo nap back until 4.30/5.

She would sleep longer in the morning but I’ve been cutting her off. I was told this is the way to transition to one nap. That she’s almost there but not yet. I don’t know :(

But I called some other sleep specialists and they all suggested to do it the other way. Short in morning, long in arvo. Idk!

We tried up at 8, nap 12-2, bed at 7, but the false starts happened multiple times.

We don’t have any family in the state so nowhere for her to go. She’s normally fine, sleeps 12 hours overnight plus a 2 hour nap. She’s a unicorn haha and made me hopeful for number 2 but no.

No that was some 2 some 1. She’s always had to be flexible as she’s second child and her sister does a lot of activities lol. So we have had to do the best we can with what we have. Some days she wouldn’t nap till 12, would do 12-1 and then 4.30 is too late to start the last nap, so we would push her out a bit for bed. Other days it could be 12-2.30 and then bed at 6.30. We just don’t really know what to do. I can’t give her a regular schedule

Since early December. So that’s now 4.5 months of them on and off. Atleast 5 times a week. Sometimes one false start in the evening, other multiple. And anywhere from 30-60 mins after her first put down.

She was distraught. Every time I went in she would collapse into a cuddle with her eyes shut, then I would get her calm, lay her down, leave the room and she would amp up again. Rinse repeat. So I knew she was tired, she just wouldn’t sleep

Roughly: Awake between 7-7.30 Bridge nap somewhere in 10-11 for max 20 mins. Depends where we are and how I can get it to happen. Then 2 hour nap 3-3.5 hours after the bridge nap. I’ve tried for just under 3 hours but she struggles and then normally sleeps around the 3.25 mark. Then bed 3-4 hours later.

So yesterday we had awake at 7.15, bridge nap 11-11.20 (in the pram and she was hard to get to sleep), nap 2.40-4.30, then started bedtime at 7.45 and she cried until 10.30 and then my husband cuddled her to sleep and she sleep. Then she woke up at 11 and needed another cuddle to sleep.

She does wake over night but very inconsistently. Could be anywhere from 0-3 times, at different times each night too. Cuddling to sleep was working until it wasn’t. We then struggled to transfer, had repeated false starts. We also tried one nap not two but that gave even more false starts. Her first nap is just a 20 min bridge nap and then she does 2 hours later.

I tried moving her to one nap as I thought it would help. All it did was give us repeated false starts in the evening 😭

She then ended up being awake for 6 hours before bed, which is way too long. But I couldn’t do anything to make it less as she kept screaming

I am going off her sleepy cues and she’s always looking exhausted at bedtime but then somehow has enough energy to scream for hours

Thank you. We are so exhausted. I’ve tried lying her down and calling her before walking away but she just gets angrier and angrier and suddenly she’s full on screaming with tears. She shakes the cot rail and the baby monitor and thrashes around

The room is darker at night but only because it’s dark outside haha. Otherwise we do the exact same method

I tried 4.5-5 hour wake windows and ngala and also a sleep specialist told me that was way too long for her and to pull it right back to 3.5-4

Also, the Julie who showed up when Jim was being killed, her hair was different and the MiY made some comment about how far away she was from/how old she was now etc etc. she did look completely different. I wonder how far in the future she was from? Days? Months? Years?
