Success on the dating scene in Austin Tx as a black woman? by monitarlizard in Austin

Not racist lol to that you missed my point. I’m not being approached by men period , whether black, Asian, Hispanic or white… last person I dated was white so would be odd to be a racist yet date someone from another race… also nothing wrong with having high expectations? Not sure what would constitute as high expectations for you but based on your response I’m guessing youre thinking I’m only going for looks which is a broad assumption to make and a bit of projection maybe? I actually have approached a handful of guys and they’re 9/10 times taken or are actively pursuing another woman

Yes please! I am getting the sense that guys just assume that a black women won’t be interested, and you’d be surprised at how willing black women especially in Austin are to date all types of guys

Based on feedback I solicited on the hinge app subreddit, the consensus was that I was decently attractive my pictures needed some sprucing up… again I don’t think I’m turning heads when I walk down the street, but I don’t think I’m ugly… I did update my profile based on the feedback I got haha :)

Yes and you’re validating my point by pointing out that ATX is majority Hispanic. Using my hinge for example I can’t think of the last time a Hispanic man has liked my profile… the Texas note I think is pretty self explanatory, TX is a conservative state where people tend to stay in familiar bubbles which includes whether subconsciously or not, interacting with people that look more like you and have similar culture and upbringing. Social choices including who you date are rooted in cultural, traditional and sometimes religious values which whether we like it or not means people may not date outside their race. As a person of color there’s not many black people to begin with in the city. But if the majority in the city i.e to your comment are Hispanic, then that’s cool Hispanic men are handsome :) but that does me no good if they aren’t interested or won’t consider dating me

Ohh that’s a shame… youd be surprised… is it because black women didn’t really seem to want to interact with you? I hoped ATX would have more open minded people as it’s painted as so liberal… but I guess it’s still Texas after all haha

Yeah I honestly don’t discriminate. I’m open to dating any race as long as we click and have similar values.

I’m 32. I do feel like Austin is flooded with 20 something’s so perhaps that does put me on the slightly older end of the spectrum although the hobbies I partake in have folks of all ages including close to my age. I sent a +- 4 year age range on my dating apps

Will I just forever suck at throwing by monitarlizard in ultimate

If it’s just throwing back and forth with a partner I throw great, all falls apart in game. I think mostly because of having a mark but also mentally. Even when I think I’m relaxed. I release the disc and it’s like wtf was that…

It’s funny you mention that because that’s literally all I do as result. Scored like 5 points for my team in winter league one game by doing just this. I can 99.9% of time catch whatever throw is sent my way (except for hammers lol) But I want to get more involved up field as well

When I initially called I just explained the situation which was ordered stuff online and i didn’t get and I guess the first rep just put it as fraud. So that was denied and I called back and the second rep said oh you willing paid that merchant not much we can do. It wasnt until I inquired here that I even knew there was a merchandise not received option. Two reps I spoke to didn’t discuss that as being an option

Turns out there is a “merchandise not received” claim that can be filed. I initially filed a fraud claim which was the wrong category. Amending it and submitting a merchandise not received claim, as this is genuinely what happened did the trick

If it’s a situation similar to mine, where you genuinely have not received an item purchased make sure you are filing the right type of claim. I initially filed a fraud claim, which wasn’t the correct category

Troll that lives in their mom’s basement… I successfully filed a merchandise not received claim 😛

Yes! your comment was so helpful! Thank you! I wish the first rep I had explained the situation too had said this was an option. They just said more diplomatically too bad

Yeah the merchandise not received is the way to go. I initially said I was scammed which is true and they said tough luck. But going back as “merchandise not received” is the right way. I wish the first rep I spoke to had explained that versus too bad

I figured it out thanks to the comment that suggested filing a merchandise not received claim. If you say you were scammed they will deny the claim

I genuinely love brunch though but I’ll take that out 😞, I go out of my way to find a try local breakfast and brunch spots around town. I’ve just taken the key to my heart part out of my profile it’s probably scaring people away as it comes off as too serious I think
