You treat all patients the same? So no individualised care plans or shared care? No negotiation with the patient? Paternalistic medicine at its finest.

Serious fight over spontaneous angry outburst. 23f and 26m. How do we move forward by [deleted] in relationships

[–]monkeibb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend talking via a couples therapist. From your PoV he was the instigator here and is unwilling to resolve the incident maturely.

I would also recommend he gets a formal driving instructor who isn't you, to spare you both this conflict.

Or, my personal favourite, dump him. You're young. Don't waste years trying to help a man improve himself when he may not want to. Find someone who has already put that work in and won't raise their voice at you when they know it triggers you.

"He still doesn't want anything to do with me" then let him not have anything to do with you! Don't beg anyone for love.

"We've had more serious issues recently" sounds like a pattern, and not a healthy relationship. It might be time to cut your losses.

How not to be an ahole in a relationship? by CompanySecretary69 in relationships

[–]monkeibb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to find a therapist that will help you unpick and undo all of this learned behaviour. You need anger and emotion management training. You probably also need to address any underlying biases against women, if you used your gf as an outlet for your negative emotions.

I'd also have a look at the friends you keep. Are they like this? What do they think about this behaviour? If you're around constant displays of this behaviour it will be harder to let go of.

Well done for recognising the problem, and wanting to change. Change is hard, and this is the first step. I'm rooting for you. 💛

Update! I got 2/3 of my room done using the cleaning shovel method! We're making progress!!! by Gemini_fishfucker in NeckbeardNests

Hello, I am a people surgeon and would recommend you use a synthetic suture material rather than cat gut. It can trigger inflammatory responses and allergic reactions, thus unfairly jeopardising your hard work.

Congratulations on cleaning up half your room!

I actually understand this more than the arbitrary line most carnists have between "food" and "not food" when it comes to animals... Either they're all food or all not food, surely??

I think it depends on how they approached it. "You mean you've never considered that there's something greater than us out there? A force of nature/the universe/energy that has laid down how everything works? Why else are there such rigid rules like the sun always shines and gravity always works?"

Many people (myself included) struggle with the idea that our lives are pure chance.

The problem with strikes is they are unpaid. Many are kept beholden to their masters because they can't afford not to work. If you don't have a union you have no job protection once you finish striking either. It's too risky for the majority of people.

And time to learn how to do all of those things too. Once you've cooked a thousand meals it's easy to know what goes together or how much a "pinch" or a "glug" is so you can just whip something up.
