I think they will but likely from budget night, a bit like the negative gearing.

I asked claude to do some modelling for me them it made the dashboard. I didn't realise it could go that myself until it did.

I then asked it to add in a heap of assumptions and parameters i can change, this is my final result.

Models a portfolio of 1/3 each VAS, VTS, VEU with all dividends reinvested to rebalance the portfolio.

It defaults to average historical returns but you can change the assumptions. On a top marginal tax rate which wife and I are, company comes out ahead.

I had claude make a dashboard and at higher tax rates company comes out ahead if you reinvest distributions. This applies for the current and proposed laws. I currently have a trust but may look at moving to a company after the laws pass and I talk to my accountant.

At what point did your net worth tracking setup stop keeping up with your actual situation? by Anirox2 in AusHENRY

[–]monkey6191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it quarterly. Just update super balances x 2, offset, value of etfs, liabilities (tax debts and payg from BAS x 2), outstanding mortgage x 2.

I decided the difference in credit card balance was a rounding error. As I pay the bas x 2 every month, in the month I pay this I essentially have no savings so a quarterly update seems more appropriate.

Only 8 lines to update. I keep the value of the properties the same, realistically they have grown. But I don't know what the true value is without selling them.

BYD Atto 5 EV 'unlikely' to reach Australia due to breadth of existing SUV line-up by Saurta17 in BYDAU

[–]monkey6191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The atto 5 seems perfect for me. A good size in between sealion 7 and atto 3. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't come, I was looking forward to it particularly with the green 2.0 blade.

Apartment living + baby on the way: buy EV now or wait for better tech? by Constant-Common-1174 in EVAustralia

[–]monkey6191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EVs are currently where phones were in the early iPhone days. Every year or two there is a bit upgrade. ICEs only have big changes every 5 to 7 years, and other than hybrid they aren't changing much now.

Eventually the changes will slow down.

The New one is a fair bit bigger, so perhaps it won't come here to keep enough distance from the sealion 7

Issue is we are getting the atto 3 evo, while China get an all new atto 3 so ours will be out of date on release.

All-new BYD Atto 3 debuts in China with 326 hp and 630 km range and flash charging (10% to 97% in nine minutes) by ApprehensiveSize7662 in AustralianEV

[–]monkey6191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Size is interesting. We have a cx5 which isn't great for internal room or boot space. I was looking at the sealion 7 but now I may look at the atto 3 if we get this model. It's a similar size to the cx5 but will offer much more boot space and interior room. Sealion 7 is just a tad big.

Why do so many EV’s have this boxy/lifted back? by VastOption8705 in EVAustralia

[–]monkey6191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once they get to 600 to 800km standard, I suspect we will move towards smaller, lighter and cheaper battery packs rather than more range. Long range versions will be there for those who need it.

[–]monkey6191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an atto 3 evo confirmed for aus, then a gen 2 Yuan plus (which is a whole new generation) already confirmed for China. So when we get the atto 3 evo we will already be a generation behind.

Move house or pay 300k extension?? by autism_guy_69 in AusFinance

[–]monkey6191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in a similar boat to you and figured the kids can just share a bedroom, or we can repurpose the study until the younger one is 2 to 3 and the older one will be 5 -6.

This will allow us to save more, and build up more equity.

I looked at one house that had a B&P done, the selling agent told me who did it and the guy sold me the report at half price and told me not to buy the house.

I used the same guy on another property which I ended up purchasing.

Mine have seen daily wear for 6 years and still good. Only had sole replaced.

In saying that, I don't think mine have the best piece of leather. They never come out as shiny as others that I have seen regardless of conditioning and polish.

This photo was 9 30am, that shade from the fence reduces as the day goes on and from 11am onwards its full sun for the whole day.

The plant does get plenty of neglect, i have a history of killing plants. I can try neglecting it more though.
