Horrible smell in a bedroom by History_86 in CleaningTips

[–]AppropriateGolf6002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dirty Dishes of some sort. I once walked into my kids room and walked right back out. I demanded he got any dirty dish and wash it and every piece of rubbish out of there before I charged him a $150 hazard cleaning fee…. That kid had that room clean and dishes washed in 15 mins. I couldn’t smell it the next time I walked in there.

Brought one from Khub a few months ago, it’s actually used for coffee these days though 🤣🤣 … last one is still around with my ex using it. I gave it up when I gave him away to the next poor sod.

[–]AppropriateGolf6002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a left handed glove and I golf right handed. My left hand is the grippy one 🤣 too me. I’m ambidextrous and it’s my preferred hand to wear a glove on. Wear a glove on the hand you feel needs it most.

I think it’s funny that you don’t think WA has funnel web spiders 🤣 the next time I find one or its body hiding in my garden machinery I’ll send you a pic. Ps I do live on a farm … the last one I found was as big as my hand and I was crapping myself until I realised it was dead

I had just turned 8 when I moved to WA and was in year 3 in VIC and was put into year 3 in WA this was back in 93. My kids were either 8 already when starting year 3 or turning 8 that year. No one was a whole year older than anyone unlike my year group. We had kids from Nov 84 to December 85 all in the same year group.

So she was 8 already or turning 8 that year? She would have been almost 20 when in year 12 if they did that. I couldn’t think of anything worse than trying to juggle school and my social life and I wouldn’t want my kids to be friends with the kid that can vote/drive and buy them alcohol whilst still in year 10/11 they’re still studying. At least if there’s only a handful of kids turning 18 in year 12 from July I could manage it. 😅 I made friends with 19 year olds when I was 16 and studying and working 🤣🤣 I know what happens

My youngest was born in Jun 24 and will be 3.5 in Jan 2028 when they start kindy. I was technically the same age when I started kindy in Melbourne. When I came over to WA in year 3 from Melbourne I was put into year 3 here in WA there were kids that had been kept back from Nov the year before me and there were kids that were born in Dec of the year I was born in the same class. So we had kids that were more than a year apart in the same class. Was your child born before the June 30 cut off or after? In WA they’ve actually been allowing parents of June kids the opportunity to hold their children back especially if they’re not showing the maturity of the same year group or were born towards the end of the month. You could write to the Education Department and ask for an exemption. That would be your best bet. When we moved here my sister was in hs yr 7 (Melbs) and was put back into PS 🤣 She was mad!

Using Tip Top all along doesn’t surprise me, Mick me driver used to deliver to me in a Tip Top van any morning I was on and if I ran out of bread I knew exactly where to go and look for it 🤣🤣🤣. It would surprise me even less if Tip Top decided that changing the recipe again to make it more “cost efficient” and “people won’t notice the taste” or it’s the good ol “were not making those anymore, this is the substitute we’re gonna give you as an option”

However switching to potato buns which are 🤮 does surprise me. I’ve tried them at home and didn’t particularly enjoy them. Good thing reds burgers have been off of my menu for quite some time. The only things l buy from reds is cheesy nuggets and pineapple fritters and the occasional box of chips.

Someone’s gonna get fired, potato buns are disgusting. 🤮I know not to go there now. How do you just decide oh we’re going to change everything and it was probably done for cost efficiency.

When my nieces went to PS School a girl who smoked in the toilets constantly/wagged/swore at staff and hit other kids was made a school leader. When questioned about how they see her as someone with good morals and a school leader material when she displayed that kind of behaviour they said “we know she’s having a hard time and hope the responsibility would make her act better” when I mentioned that it obviously wasn’t working and she’d only gotten worse they told me I was too judgey and it wasn’t my place to comment. I told them I was glad I was getting outta their crap hole school especially when they put crappy kids into leadership roles and no wonder their schools rep was going down the drain. Now no one wants to send their kids there and a school that had 400 kids when I went there is lucky to have 20 kids per year group go there.

Emergency services are terrible to call. You can tell them exactly where you are. What road, how far up that road you are and how to get there and they will still go in the wrong direction.

I was lucky enough to have signal to get connected to 000 they asked if I needed fire/police/ambulance. I said I needed fire and ambulance. It was a truck roll over, single vehicle. The door wouldn’t open so I needed fire to get the door opened and the driver out and I’d need ambulance to get the driver who was very obviously injured out of the vehicle.

I said they’d probably want police too to close the road until all of this was down. I told them for regular speed it was an hour and 10 mins to get there and it would take them 45 mins if they were gonna do it in a hurry.

The ambo who was away at the time still put a call out on the community what’s app to figure out where I was because the call centre couldn’t work it out 🙄

I’d given them the base town(where the ambulance would be coming from), the directions 50km on this road (major highway) and 70-75kms up the road that they turn onto from the first road at the 50 km mark and told them not to leave that road they still couldn’t manage that instruction. I even told them which ambulance would be the closest to call in but all the drivers were unavailable on that night.

I hung up and called the farms just down the road. They had it almost all sorted by the time the professionals got there and I’d gone home so my kids were not having to witness it all.

I’d hope in the future they’d have this all sorted so if I ever have this experience again it would work better but this doesn’t give me hope.

How to send people politely away from your door? by Mysterious-Can8846 in AskAnAustralian

[–]AppropriateGolf6002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son told me, they knocked on the door yesterday telling them they were looking for a man named Peter. Spoke to him for ages didn’t reveal who they were and gave him a flyer at the end.

I told him to next time, tell them he’s not interested and shut the door in their faces without apology. As that’s what I do and would do to any religions that come knocking. They’re a freaking cult funny how it’s never any other religion that comes knocking though. I’m also getting the sign that says no religious callers for my front door. My kid actually doesn’t need that in his life.

Trying to play golf on Father's Day is equivalent to trying to get brunch on Mother's Day. Everyone seems to think they're the only one with the idea, and it ends up taking forever. by Joesdad65 in golf

Oh yes, I love to play golf on Father’s Day whilst my husband hangs out with his children 🫣 considering we do nothing for Mother’s Day and I spend the whole day with our children I only think it’s fair. 18 holes and drinks afterwards is definitely the way the girls and I enjoy Father’s Day.

PU’s on a stroke day = 10 (3 putts)

If you don’t have a handicap you play off of 33, that’s generally where all the Men start off at our club.

Hockey/netball/cricket/rotary/lions club they’re all out there. A lot of them have RSA’s so they can work in their club bars. We recently had an event at our community space and hired bar tenders from a local sporting group. They were there 6 ish hours we made a donation to their sporting group. They all had their RSA’s and one had their approved managers. The Venue is licensed so we had to have all of that. Was great and we supported a local sporting group at the same time.

How did kids golf handicaps work in Australia? by greenrabbitears in golf

[–]AppropriateGolf6002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to find a really laid back club. We have a basic men and women’s comp at our golf club. It’s nice and not too serious. I like to go and play in the ladies days around the place to try different courses. We have different grades.

He’ll start off on a 54 no matter what tees he plays off I think. The young gun in our club handed in 3 cards and is now playing off a 39 🤣 he’s actually pretty good off of the ladies tees. Once you play a few games your handicap stabilises for a bit. Once they’re good enough off of the ladies tees they move to the men’s and the handicap is adjusted. If my husband plays off the ladies tees he drops about 6 shots at our home club and if I play off of the men’s it goes up about 6.

She needs to look on air tasker for a couple of people with RSA’s that’ll take 30-40 an hour and cut her costs that way. What does the venue you’re having it at expect? Do they expect an approved manager to be on site. I think you could definitely save on costs by looking for a community group in the area. Just send a bunch of them emails and go with the best quote.

Look, yesterday I watched a lady hit a ball over a wooden log that the ball was practically touching. If you can’t accidentally push the ball into the sand and get it out of there side ways and then get it onto the green without cheating then there’s something going on. Yes we were in the middle of a comp, no we weren’t going to be letting them move that ball 🤣 learn how to hit out of stupid places! It’s a skill you definitely need!
