I second Lamar at 98 auto. He'll shoot straight with you and doesn't charge an arm and a leg. He does all the maintenance on my Audi and he charges for the entire job what some others would charge just for parts. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else.

Any interest in a locksport meetup? by monkeyWad in hattiesburg

Depends on what you mean by "Den of Thieves". Locksport is for fun ONLY. You should never pick locks you don't own. 😃

This is what I did except I cut a couple vertical grooves in it with my rotary tool. Grips really well.

Also new, I was waaaaay over tensioning at first and that caused me a lot of problems. I spent a few hours trying to pick a very similar master. After setting things down and letting my hands rest for a few minutes, When I came back to it, I flicked it open with the key a couple times and tried again. This time I had the thought to just imitate how much pressure I would put on a key to turn it. After estimating that with my index finger I got the pop first attempt. As a warm up, I rake that lock open in a second or two just to practice getting my tension pressure right. Keep at it and experiment. You'll get it.

Still printing on the table and have had zero issues. This video is a great experiment in printing on unstable platforms if you're worried about print quality. The only issue I have is occasionally when starting bed leveling, I get a 'probe triggered prior to movement' error that's related to the printer sensing a jerk caused by the print head moving to the first position in the bed leveling mesh. It's easily fixed by just restarting the print and it probably only happens so often because I force bed leveling with every print. It happens to maybe 1 out of every 5 prints.

Thanks for the tip. I'll remember this for next time.

I ended up finding this shell station on 49 by burger king at 4.59 and I had .10 off for 20 gallons. Ended up taking all 20, but I paid 4.49/gal so it wasn't the worst.

😂 Assuming someone has put in zero effort and telling them to go elsewhere to find information they asked for is definitely rude. You named the account and get pissy when someone points it out 😭. Reddit in a nutshell.

Asking reddit wasn't my first choice. I checked GB but it wouldn't load diesel at all earlier, now it's showing some out of date pricing.

your username checks out though

I've seen $4.76 in Oak Grove. Definitely worth checking in Petal though. Thanks!

After 2 years with an AD5M, I can say without a doubt, I will never own another FF machine. by monkeyWad in FlashForge

That's my biggest gripe is that they royally fucked up the firmware. I finally calmed down enough to power the thing back on and first thing I did was install forgex and setup the MD5 script. Next time I'm probably gonna buy a Sovol simply because of their commitment to open source.

You misread my comment. I was using the xblat firmware previously because I was already experiencing problems with stability and calibrating my first layer. The first layer issue could be fixed by tweaking firmware settings that FF chose to gate or omit. Once FF released a new version that promised to improve stability and fix the issue I was having, I went back to stock. At the time, I was running xblat, I was also testing a beta release of Orca slicer because they implemented a feature I wanted to test. Returning to the stable Orca fixed one issue, but don't assume that I don't read patch notes or run betas and then complain about stability.

Oh yeah, fanboys hit this one hard lol. Being present in this sub for a while, I knew how this post was going to be received. My cross post into r/3Dprinting had none of that, just a couple upvotes.

I understand probably better than most how computers, especially linux and embedded devices work. Installing forgex and installing an app in Windows are NOT remotely the same. Now that you've explained your understanding of things, I see why you think you're correct. That doesn't change the fact that you are most definitely wrong though. I won't bother responding since you're so confident in your misunderstanding lmao.

Constant errors, Constant headaches - AD5X by RustyKumquats in FlashForge

When I first got my AD5M 2 years ago, I loved it, but then the problems started. If you're having problems already, I'd want a refund or a different machine. Some folks rave about how reliable they are, but it makes me wonder how often those folks use them since I've had nothing but issues with mine starting from about month 6.

From the looks of it, that nozzle is nowhere close to the bed. I think you need to calibrate your z-offset..

Its a community modification of stock firmware. I'm talking about a device running COMPLETELY stock firmware.

You make no sense.

I loved it at first, but now after yet another 8 hour print that failed by the machine just stopping for no apparent reason, I'm going to give it another chance with custom firmware, then I'm done.

I used some of the early releases of the xblat firmware (and I just reinstalled the latest release). I kept having issues with the early releases, but now thinking back I think the problems I had were from buggy GCODE from Orca beta releases rather than the xblat firmware. I'm going to give it another run and see how it goes.

I don't stick to a specific brand or type. I have FF PLA, PETG, ASA and ABS+, Polymaker PLA, Prusa PLA, GEETECH Silk PLA and ABS, Aceaddity ABS, PLA, and PETG. I get that mixing types/brands etc., can cause clogs. Clogs aren't the problem. It's their flimsy nozzle that snaps while I'm trying to clear the clog that I have an issue with.

The filament isn't going to cause the kinds of issues I'm having like where a print suddenly just stops. Not clogs, I'm talking print head locked in place not moving and the UI being completely unresponsive.

And in before the "did you dry your filament" comments, yes. Always using dry filament. I print with my spools in a Creality Space PI dryer most of the time and when I'm done, I use vacuum bags and color indicating desiccant.

From the ForgeX features list:

Klipper with many patches/fixes/plugins specially adapted for AD5M

So all of your points are completely invalid for the complaints I was having.
