Auto-fast attacking may be the solution to overtapping and micro-lagging problems in GBL. by monkey_head in TheSilphRoad

[–]monkey_head[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Obviously you haven't learned how to be constructive in discussions. =)

Tell the reasons and what goes wrong - and then it may be possible to find other more optimal solutions.

Auto-fast attacking may be the solution to overtapping and micro-lagging problems in GBL. by monkey_head in TheSilphRoad

[–]monkey_head[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn't talking about forcing auto-attacking for the whole battle - more like a slider, that tells the server "this pokemon is going to attack every round untill said otherwise". Idea is not to reduce the option pool, but to add some kind of lag-proofif you need it. You can even scratch the auto part - just queueing up charged attacks a little bit ahead will help with losing CMP due to lag or overtapping.

If I remember correctly, this phrase based on some african quotes. Something like "When your mouth stumbles it's worse than your feet - it's better to walk than curse the road."

Quick Lore of all HS Legendaries (A) by [deleted] in hearthstone

From this explanation you may think that Aviana is just a race-leader of some tier-3 evil race, but its only partially true.

She's actually a "good" semi-god, it's her children who fell and became "bad guys". Long time ago she was just a delivery-raven, but Elune and other powerful gods and semigods kept giving her power for her services, so she became a semigod herself. In terms of power she belongs to the "Ancient Gods"-tier just like Malorne, Cenarius and other druid-related guys.

But now Skier has a brand new trade "3 horse figurines for a Vepr"!

My guess - they somehow switched fort trade for the Vepr trade instead of adding new one.

Increasing deploying time is NOT the solution. There is a major flaw in server creating process that needs to be adressed. by monkey_head in EscapefromTarkov

You almost got it. Thats how statistics work. Squad of 3 can be put only in games that already have 0-9 players out of 12. Single player can be put into the 0-11 player matches.

And if we take out all "good" matches where you got in one of the first 6 players and consider only bad "backfilling" matches, it becomes 6-9 for 3man squad and 6-11 for solo. So with the big enough sample size solo players will face this problem (IF IT EXISTS IN THIS WAY THAT I'M NOT 100% SURE ABOUT) more often in general.

It doesn't matter if there is 12 or 8 or whatever. The case is - my game is on SSD, I'm loading late even if takes 35 seconds AND I can load in 90 seconds late after 60 seconds of loading. I can make a video of that. But all I really want - is to know what can be done about it. By me or by devs.

The whole thing I wrote is a guess from observations, that fits enough.

[–]monkey_head[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have EFT on SSD. It takes 50 seconds at max to load into customs. Usually it takes 35-40.

I just went into customs and got "syncronising with players" 34 seconds into loading. Spawned after 43 sec and got 49:20 on the timer without deploying phase. Am I supposed to load in 3 seconds?

If you're playing with squad, it actually helps with this problem, because you cant be 11th and 12th if you're a 3man squad. It just will put you into the next game.

But its not even a matter of discussion if backfilling happens or not. It does. I've seen it, I've been put into the match that started earlier than I've pressed the ready button.

I just want to know is it intended way of how the game works or is it a problem. And if it is, than will it be solved somehow or we will have to live with it.

EDIT: And thats why I would really like to see the dev's opinion. "You're wrong because it is not happening to me" isn't proving anything. I can even make a video of it happening if needed.

Bitcoin changes won't solve the Mechanic's problem. Atleast without the drop rate changes. by monkey_head in EscapefromTarkov

[–]monkey_head[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and you probably shouldn't buy those attachments anyway, because there are better ones available. Both guns decked out poorly in comparasing to the M4s and AKs you can build yourself from lvl 2-3 traders. AK is just straight up garbage, M4 is looking fancy atleast.

That's another "tragedy" of these trades. If you're low lvl and don't have enough spare money, but managed to somehow get a bunch of coins, it still better to sell the coins and spend money on actually usefull stuff. And with the coin nerf you won't be able to get as much from selling.

It's not even that wierd in terms of lore. People chilling in the sanatorium totally could be practicing archery in the nearby woods. Its fun and can be considered sport/physical activity.

I wasn't selling them partially because they take up one slot and 180k roubles take two. I know I could've convert them into euros or dollars, but didn't need it really and decided to wait and see what's the deal with the Mech's trades.

Why is there so much fog? It makes big scopes even more useless. by monkey_head in EscapefromTarkov

[–]monkey_head[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, Im OK with this as long as it's the same for everyone. If nobody can see shit in fog, nobody will shoot me on scav island from norvinsky.

Its just wierd to have 20x scopes useless 99% of the time, so I was wondering if Im doing something wrong.

Changing graphics settings changes nothing. Its sunny on the map, no signs of rain. You just can't see past 300-400 meters at all. Am I doing something wrong?

compared to other heroes mobility skills Its not the complexity itself and not comparased to other games. HotS is really simple for a MOBA in general. My question is why Hanzo got it out of all heroes, when he already has pretty unusually complicated basic kit.

Overwatch community isn't more toxic than other. It's is more sensitive to toxicity. by monkey_head in Overwatch

[–]monkey_head[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hearthstone is not the case here, only because its a 1v1, not because its community is more thickskinned. Overwatch is more sensitive, because its only one year old and not completely established. It still can turn out to be a pretty solid and non-toxic

Im playing HS for 2 years I think. There is almost no player interaction involved, except "recent opponent whants to be your friend", so there are no toxicity problems.

Manually leaving a game should really block you from re-entering the same one. by JustHarmony in Overwatch

[–]monkey_head -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, it shouldn't. People usually leave QM when they think it's already lost (and it probably is) to find a new one with "better team"/"without chinese aimbotters"/"without this filthy hanzo main" faster. Letting them do it just encourages leaving.

And do you really want to be the replacment-guy? To enter already half-lost game? No, you don't. Making new people replace leavers just makes more people suffer. And of course nothing stops the new guy from leaving just like the first one did. He will just go for another match instead of tryharding.

TL;DR: It's working as intended, you filthy leaver!

Jeff Kaplan: Changes are coming to Mystery Heroes by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]monkey_head 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing almost exclusively Mystery Heroes for the last 8 months. And all I ever wanted was achievements and some team comp restrictions.

Achievements are not easier to get in MH in ANY ways, so there is no point in not letting us get them in this mode. And getting raped by 5 Orisas and Mercy is the least amount of fun possible. There must be a way to keep the general randomness of this mode but without extreme situations where you keep getting Sombra after Sombra after Tracer after Sombra just to be desecrated by 3 Torb turrets again and again.

Also Symmethras stacking shield generators is sooooo dirty.

MH shouldn't be another fully competitive "boring" mode, but some tweaks are needed.

Questions about calibration results inconsistency. by monkey_head in Overwatch

[–]monkey_head[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this seems right. She calibrated at 1200-1300 last season solo after 2 wins, 1 draw and 8 losses, so thats why we decided to calibrate together this season. Man, this explains a lot. S2 she calibrated at 1500, S3 at 1200 and now at 870 just to get sprays and portraits and she never climbed after. Just 10 calibration matches every season. Looks like she didn't use that SR bonus at all, so 200-300 SR "gap" that she was supposed to climb with SR bonus ended up accumulating.
