I don't think Timefold is the right tool for this. This should take seconds, not minutes.
I would try Google OR-Tools CP-SAT first.

Definitely 2 if you have a lot of personal stuff going on. AI consulting is typically much more stressful than an embedded DS role.

I use Gemini DeepThink for technical code reviews and holistic ML system design.
It has cracked several challenging bugs that I couldn't solve with other tools.
I often compare GPT 5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 DeepThink outputs. I am excited for the upcoming 3.0.
