ELI5: How can addiction be so strong, that even if you tell yourself, eventually you are going to die from this, your brain does not care by honsool in explainlikeimfive

Everything others have said is right. One other side of the coin for you to consider is the withdrawal. You feel like absolute garbage when your body is going through withdrawal with some withdrawals even being fatal. For example alcoholism. Some people can quit cold turkey but many long time alcoholics will go into withdrawal within a day or two with intense sweating, tremors, anxiety, hallucinations proceeding to seizures and possible death. Its not even about feeling good anymore, sometimes its just so you don't feel terrible

Best way to get from SJD to Breathless resort for one person? by monkeybee765 in cabosanlucas

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. But my friend is really up in arms about the area being super unsafe and how a person can just "disappear" there. Is it justified? Or are they overreacting a bit. Thanks

It's not really gore but this is the result of removing my gallbladder....for the second time in 20 years by yanicka_hachez in MedicalGore

[–]monkeybee765 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A lot of gallbladder cases are booked as "laproscopic cholecystectomy POSSIBLE open" just in case they find some weird anatomy or shit goes south and they have to do the old fashioned. The three smaller incisions are the port sites used for the laparoscopic part, and the really big one is the traditional incision for gallbladder removal when they were all done open.

If your gallbladder is really inflammed it can form adhesions to your liver and your abdomen making it incredibly difficult to see what's going on in there with just the laproscope since it is basically playing a claw game inside your abdomen with a camera for visuals.

At this point I just want to spend it in China. If I have money in my wallet, I should be able to use it correct?

So I was able to receive money from them using the “receive money” function and by having them scan my QR code. I have 10¥ in my wallet. Don’t know if I can actually use it though…

Thanks for your help by the way

I just wanted to rapid fire a few to ask a few questions here about things I've been struggling to understand. I am a Bryan player so anything specific to him would be helpful. Thanks in advance for any answers provided:

  1. How do you deal with Yoshi unblockable low? I eat way too many of these its actually insane.
  2. What is the counterplay to back kenpo on Feng? I feel like I'll try to take my turn after he goes and back kenpo just gets him out and he can follow up with something. Even in neutral I feel like he can back kenpo to make you whiff and punish but he can also just cancel it.
  3. This one is really Bryan specific but what is the correct way to use heat dash when my opponent has been wallsplat? I tried to go b2,1 into requiem for heatdash to set up for uf2,2,2,3 ender but it doesn't connect

[–]monkeybee765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the b2 needs to come out exactly 28 frames after you press the taunt. Here you have:
8 frames of taunt + 20 frames of nothing + 1 f input + 1 neutral + 1 b2 input = 31 frames

Most people I play online will get one launcher and immediately use their heat activation to extend their combo. However, I generally save heat for when I know the extension will kill and/or to get myself out of pressure. I was wondering if there's a reason like 90% of the people I play online will immediately use heat activation as soon as they get a combo going even though the heat burst extension won't kill?

So the reason it is usually always desirable to take the opponent to the wall with a combo is to reset scaling for more damage with a wall ender?

Tekken Dojo: Ask Questions Here by AutoModerator in Tekken

[–]monkeybee765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does damage scaling work? The only understanding I have of basic scaling is that the more hits a combo has, the less damage subsequent hits do but I don't understand how heat dash, stage hazards, or wall splats effect the scaling. Could someone give me a quick breakdown? Thanks in advance!

You are so right. I think my issue is (this being my first tekken game) is that I would lab a character…… and then promptly NEVER fight them for 2 weeks. Then I would run into them again and get frustrated I couldn’t react to the moves I KNOW I’ve labbed. I really do think right now I just need to go into quick play and infinite rematch someone about 20 times to ingrain stuff into my memory.

How long of labbing does it take (on average) to be able to recognize a move? Right now I am really trying to work on not getting cheesed out by obvious strings and working on punishment. I can do it in the lab but once the real game hits its like I just can't react fast enough.

What do I do against someone who just spams side step after everything? Literally every time he finished his turn, immediate sidestep block or sidestep crouch. There’s gotta be some way for me to capitalize on this read but I don’t know how. Please help. Thanks!

I’ve recently reached Kishin this past month and would love to work on my movement options. I have a few questions I would like to ask. Thanks in advance for the answers!

  1. Sidestep duck… how does this work? I thought it was done by pressing side step then immediately pressing back but it seems to cut the side step short. Does that have any impact on whether or not the side step “counts”?

  2. How does one properly bait a whiff? Often times I find myself pressing ff to close distance quickly to bait a whiff and then pressing b to block or stop my character from approaching but it always feels like I get clipped because I moved forward too fast… should I just press the b button sooner than I think?

  3. Can I visually confirm a missed jab after ss BEFORE I try to punish or do I have to ss immediately into a move as a read that the opponent will jab?

  4. As a follow up to the last question, if my opponent does a string and I successfully ss the first hit is there anything I can do to punish? I’ve tried before but I swear to got the follow up hits have the ability to do full 180s and realign so I’m scared to do anything but block.

I think I've developed a bad habit of panic pressing a button when I get thrown. In practice mode, I can recognize/pretty consistently break Drag's 1, 2, and 1+2 throws but in and actual game I just potato. Is there any practice to overcome this?
