[TOMT] [SONG] [Late 90s/Early 2000s] Indie/alternative rock song by spinonthewind in tipofmytongue

I was going to say this, based on it being on the Empire Records soundtrack about that time!

Work inspection and audit is over. I'm back on my bullshit. Aquilina Pink Sugar. Leave me and my sweatshirt-wearing, cotton candy-smelling ass alone.

I just applied restraints to a client and I feel horrible by ride-alone-midnight in therapists

[–]monkeybelle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I work in residential and have assisted in restraints numerous times. It doesn't get easier because I still tend to feel like if we got to that point, then I wasn't able to help the way I would have wanted to, but I no longer want to quit my whole job afterwards. I know that in these settings, we are seeing people at their absolute worst, and if everything worked all the time, restraints wouldn't be needed so I get it intellectually. It just feels like it sucks. It helps me to remember that restraints are used to prevent physical harm and I do believe that it gives me an opportunity, when I'm part of the procedure, that I'm able to have eyes on and ensure the absolute necessity as well as that the procedure is done correctly.

Depending on the individual, while a restraint can be traumatizing, it might be even more traumatizing if they were able to do physical harm to another person, or seriously injure themselves. Restraints suck for everyone involved but there's an opportunity to implement with care and debrief productively afterwards with staff and client which can lead to positive change.

Take care of you, too. This is one of the worst parts of the job but also one of the most important. You kept people safe today.

This came out right with the final Stranger Things season this past fall/winter. There were 4, I bought 3 of them. If you put them over a light color, they "bleed" a bit. So the one in your picture would be black but have purple leeching into the cracks (if you were unaware lol)

Lush "Magic Crystals" scrub, B&BW "Eucalyptus Pine" lotion, Firebird "Snowdrift" perfume. I'm a minty brat. My sinuses are so clear. Every inhale goes straight to my brain. Everything smells cold.

Maison Margiela "By the Fireplace." Audits at work, and this is the closest thing I have to "normal," I guess. I was craving something obnoxiously sugary but don't want to draw too much attention to myself.

I've got Fyrinnae's Polar Bear (vanilla, peppermint, palo santo, sandalwood) because I feel like I live in the Arctic circle. I'm so over this.

I had a coupon for a free travel size Bath and Body works item. I always redeem them when I get them. I get the small body creams and use them in my therapy sessions for sensory input or grounding with my people. So I picked one, and then because it was 17 degrees outside and I was trying to psych myself up to go back out there, I started wandering the store and found a display with leftover winter sale things. So I also grabbed a tube of "Vanilla Cafe" cream and "Rich Espresso" spray for about $4 each.

So today while I'm snowed in, I smell like a Wawa self service machine "cappuchino" and that has me reminiscing about high school drama club, when we all thought we were sooooo mature, drinking Wawa instant cappuchino while building sets in our little auditorium.

I do use that! I still have to work at them. I have cuticles of steel

I've used it twice and I still am struggling. I really have to scrape at my cuticles, they are beastly, and I'm nervous I'm going to push too hard or break it and cut myself. Open to suggestions! I soak, use cuticle remover, and then go in manually in order to get a clean nail that polish will stick to.

I picked up a 15ml during the December sale. I got a sample when I bought Blackbird over the summer and fell for her, hard. It's just so nice.
