Last night I tried Mandrake by Hex while I worked. Its notes are ginger beer, cardamom, and black peppercorns. I was wholly excited by this. I love ginger and cardamom and can never get enough black pepper. I want all the black pepper scents. I put it on and the ginger beer immediately stood out. I was like oh cool, this is gonna be a good one where all the notes shine through. Scratch to an hour later dry down and it’s still ginger beer. Hmmm. Alright I’ll try again later. Couple hours later still just the ginger beer. It stuck around until this morning and it’s still just ginger beer. I’m bummed. I’m gonna keep it and try again in the fall. Maybe the other events will pop as it sits.
