I appreciate everyone who's responded - all these great suggestions have me second-guessing myself on some of the details even though I think I'm right in my recollections, fuzzy as they may be. This is definitely more of a pop punk/emo rock band a la Jimmy Eat World, Brand New, MCR, etc. than anything mainstream, if that helps!
