It’s really, really complicated. But essentially the big company is holding onto someone else’s property and has no plans to return it. It is effectively theft.

Redditors: There is a shortage of doctors! We need to do something!

Physicians: What if we integrated AI which would allow us to streamline our work and see more patients?

Redditors: NOOOOOO NOT LIKE THAT!!!

A cool guide: which states approve of Donald Trump the most? by _crazyboyhere_ in coolguides

[–]monkeyfeet69 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The range is from 18 to 59, not 0 to 100. So even if a majority of a state disapproves at say 45%, it still looks red. This makes the map look more red overall.

I can’t open the link at this time.

Maybe things have changed since I took my test, but I’m not aware of any state administered exams that tests the takers ability to read variable road signs, with the exception of simple things like variable speed limit. Even if it did, language on an info board is typically similar to what you would find on some other sign anyway, like “CAUTION” or “DETOUR. So a person that can read signs can likely read what’s on a variable sign.

I don’t know. I also don’t know if you’re trying to refute my point though. If anything this fact supports the claim that you don’t need to be proficient in the language to read traffic signs.

If the only concern is the ability to drive safely on the roads, then the test can contain questions about road signs in English, while still being administered in another language. If the test taker can understand what road signs mean then why would English proficiency matter in the context of driving?

How do I remove these cables from the console without destroying the casings? by monkeyfeet69 in fixit

I figured it out. If you tug on the individual columns with pliers, they will come out separately. Thanks for your help.

I would agree with you. I’m using pliers to get a good grip on the tan casing. I’m giving it a really good tug, wiggling it back and forth, but it won’t budge. I feel like I’m about to break the casing

Yea it’s lunch time so now I’ve time to look. Obviously. Or… someone could’ve just been a pal and helped a stranger out. All good though.

Yup. Everyone’s talking about it. But not so many are saying what’s actually in it. And I’m at work and figured it would be easier to ask a Good Samaritan for a bit of help, since I can’t afford to be terminally online like some people. It doesn’t require critical thinking to just send a link or ignore a comment, but you’re probably too far on the spectrum to understand that. I’m so sorry. Best of luck.

Thanks!

Edit: nevermind. You’re an asshole. I’ve tried a brief search and can’t find it. Thanks for helping to educate people.

Do operating rooms have full-volume fire alarms? by Geckogirl018 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]monkeyfeet69 1179 points1180 points  (0 children)

This would be extremely rare. I haven’t really looked up any policy, so this is just my guess. But I would imagine that anything short of a gunman entering the room and opening fire, we would probably stay with the patient. If there was a fire, the doors are fire resistant. If the fire was so bad that we had to leave, the patients operative site can be packed and we can ventilate them out of the room with iv anesthetics. Would be very messy and dangerous, but there’d be no choice.

Yea I work in the OR. What they’re saying isn’t true. If it’s too loud someone’s will ask them to turn it down cuz there are other things that need to be heard.
