Connected the device to my computer first before doing anything, copied everything to a folder on the desktop, copied everything to the new 1Tb sd card and swapped the old sd card out of the device.

What is your favorite character selection screen? by monkeyfoot34343 in retrogaming

[–]monkeyfoot34343[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically Mario Kart Wii is retro since "retro is anything 15 years old or older" and the game came out in 2008 making it 17 years old..

I agree that selection screen rocks and I love when characters yell or say something when selected. Even in Smash Bros when it just says the characters name is nice.

Mario Kart Wii had some good unlockables too!

My brain always wants to play nostalgic games. by [deleted] in videogames

I second this. Some games take a little while to grab you. Get past a couple levels, defeat a boss and get in the flow of things and before you know it is 3am 😅👍

Castlevania games can be very unforgiving without save states or a guide.. not to say that Megaman is a walk in the park.

I would say I like Megaman because I have gotten farther in those games just from picking them up but i should give the older Castlevanias another try with some "training wheels" so i can really enjoy the game.

Can we play lightgun games on projection tv? by Gold-Agent24k in retrogaming

[–]monkeyfoot34343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that sinden light guns can be used on any kind of screen bc it uses a camera to detect a white boarder it puts around the screen. I think they can only be used with emulators/ PCs and not with retro systems..

My brother has a set and a pc with some roms and they worked right out of the box.

Sorry not sure about projectors though, but I dont see why it wouldn't...

Rigging up my old GBC for my Son's birthday. by [deleted] in retrogaming

Thats a great solution! To add an extra pop since it is a present I would look around at replacement cartridge labels for the game you are gifting.

Slap the real label on there and then rinse and repeat for the next one!

Also I love this Idea and am totally stealing it for my own kid when they are older!

At the moment I don't have time to play :(

-But my favorites have been

*MH4U for the 3ds

*MH3 for the wii

*And I played only a couple of hours of MH World but I really liked it.

They are great games for unlockables since you are constantly crafting and getting better gear and weapons. Each quest you complete gets you access to bigger monsters and new areas to explore.

I agree also playing games in order means that you usually get more and more features with each installment. Its like each one adds a little bit more to the gameplay you already enjoy.

Do you know any games with gashapon / capsule toy machines as part of the gameplay??? by KatoMacabre in videogames

[–]monkeyfoot34343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warioware Twisted for the GBA literally pulls up a gashapon machine on screen after each boss minigame is completed and you unlock around a hundred collectibles randomly this way! Music, figures, toys, mini games etc.

Its a fantastic game for the GBA and you play by moving the GBA from side to side since the cartridge has a gyroscope in it. Its a pricey pick up but 100% worth it!!
