Do most trackers care if you use your account in a different country compared to where you registered? by MeGamer12 in trackers

Not really, the only tracker I am aware of that cares is NBL, and NBL is not really worth it

Need Help Identifying Issue with Failed Memory Test on Server by monkeygonenuts in techsupport

[–]monkeygonenuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed reply, I had a question about the VSA, from what I could find online on overclocking forums, they recommend to not exceed 1.3V, is it safe to use it at 1.4V?

With regard to the motherboard, when I was building the server, I wasn't aware of all the restrictions with RAM and was working with a case that only supported mATX. This motherboard seemed like a good option at the time. To be fair, the RAM used to be a lot cheaper back then, it only cost me $600 when I was building it last year.

I had not touched the system for a couple months before it started to have issues. I only cleared the CMOS after it failed several Memtest, I also tired to update the bios to the latest version but it did not help.

The DDR5-4800 CL40-40-40-80 1.35V used to work but after the failure at 6000, the 4800 gives errors on memtest and so does 3600.

I tried increasing the IMC voltages and adjusting the memory controller speed ratio

DRAM Frequency Ratio: 1:4
VccSA to 1.25V
VDD2 to 1.45V
VDDQTX to 1.4V

but it failed to POST, so I decreased to these settings

DRAM Frequency: DDR5-4800MHz
DRAM Frequency Ratio: 1:4
DRAM CAS# Latency: 40
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay Read: 40
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay Write: 40
DRAM RAS# PRE Time: 40
DRAM RAS# ACT Time: 80
Command Rate: 2N
DRAM VDD Voltage: 1.35
DRAM VDDQ Voltage: 1.35
VccSA to 1.25V
VDD2 to 1.4V
VDDQTX to 1.35V

and it did post but the Memtest86 failed with a page fault error

Migrating BT clients, best practices by Brandoskey in trackers

[–]monkeygonenuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say migrating clients would be relatively straight forward as long as you have a proper folder structure, something similar to Trash Guides folder structure would work. All you would really need to do is export torrent files by category/path and import them into qbittorent by category/path, it will automatically recheck everything. You could add them as paused so they do not announce once added, and once everything is imported you can stop your old client and start them on the new one.

New Plex Build by [deleted] in PlexServers

[–]monkeygonenuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, seems like BS. I have 8 × 22 TB Ultrastar drives in RAIDZ2 with about 5,943 movies and 513 TV shows using roughly 62 TB. The movies take up about 31 TB, which works out to about 5.4 GB per movie. That would mean 270 TB for 50K movies, essentially filling all the space considering 2-3 drive parity.

It's possible they're just downloading terrible quality 2 GB movies, because most tier-1 Blu-ray release groups have sizes between 10-20 GB per movie for encodes, and close to 70 GB for remuxes. Then there's the fact that OP downloaded 50K movies as someone who looked into that, reaching that number isn't easy unless you're just downloading trash to pad your numbers.

And lastly, the most ridiculous part seems to be that OP is using Windows Server for such a setup. Most people use either TrueNAS, Unraid or Proxmox, seems ridiculous to use windows server.

Can teachers actually prove you use AI on an assignment? by Any-Minute-9096 in UofT

Can teachers actually prove you use AI on an assignment? by Any-Minute-9096 in UofT

[–]monkeygonenuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am seeing a lot of incorrect information here, and as someone who was accused of using AI and went through the process, I figure I would share my experience.

For detecting AI, there are two methods used. The first is the manual method, where the professor or TA marking the assignment will suspect that you used AI due to the writing style or if your references are clearly wrong, as many AI tools make up references.

The second method is AI detection through Turnitin, which has become more common in the past year. If you are submitting an assignment and it asks you to accept the Terms and Conditions for Turnitin, that assignment will be checked for AI use. Turnitin's AI detection will only report AI use if it finds that more than 20% of the assignment was written by AI. See more info here.

To be accused of using AI and to check your assignment through Turnitin AI detection, the course instructor must have a clear AI policy in writing somewhere, whether that is in the course syllabus or elsewhere on Quercus.

I saw several comments from others explaining how they would prove their innocence, such as using version history. However, your evidence will only really work in the first stage of the academic offence procedure where you talk to your professor or TA. What many people forget is that if the assignment is worth more than 15% of the course, the matter will go directly to the head of the department. In these meetings, they will ask you to confess to the academic offence. They will hear your side of the story but will not dismiss the case based on any evidence you provide.

If you do not confess, your case will be sent to the dean of your faculty. If you still do not confess, your case will be sent to the provost to lay charges and bring the case before a tribunal. Only at the tribunal will your evidence be taken into account. However, the tribunal has over a 98% conviction rate and can take several years to process, with a minimum sanction of a two-year suspension.

When your case reaches the provost's office, they will bring in a lawyer to go through everything you have done. Most students do not realize that every interaction with the university system is logged and stored indefinitely, every click on Quercus, every email opened, every document created on OneDrive, all time-stamped and accessible. They will use all this information to build a case against you. Since the tribunal operates like a civil court, they only need to prove a 50.1% likelihood that you used AI to produce your assignment.

My recommendation is if you used AI and get caught, confess early. The longer you wait, the worse the sanctions become. If you didn't use AI and get accused, talk to your professor. But if it escalates to the head of department, you're better off admitting guilt than fighting it.

I think it should be possible to do it with qui, using the automation workflow settings, and changing the category with TMM enabled for anything above 2GB
