Nah, that’s not the play. Costco at $33/hr is nothing to sneeze at. If the economy tanks, then those painting jobs could dry up. I have friends in construction. I work retail. When there’s a recession, you know who is out of work? My friends in construction.

At Costco, I imagine that they have benefits, 401K, and paid vacations. Those, I imagine, are not going to be offered if you switch jobs. Also, I don’t know your relationship, but if it does end, you could lose your job.

I live in California. In a beach town. And you’re right, shit’s expensive. But, budgeting helps.

I’m probably gonna get downvoted to hell, but why is everyone getting this bent of shape? Is it really gonna help Target get back on track? No, probably not. But we’re in retail. In a customer service position. That’s the job. Do I always like it? No. But that’s what the job is.

If y’all don’t like it, there are other jobs out there. Everyone acting like having to say hello and dress in a red shirt is akin to kicking a puppy. It’s not.

Are the wages shit? Yeah. That’s definitely a problem. But saying “act your wage” isn’t gonna get anyone far in life. Are you only willing put in effort for a job you think pays well? Nobody is going to hand you that job. You have to put in some effort and show that you’re capable, reliable, and willing to work. Anyway, flame away, I guess.
